We actually had to move to a different property of theirs (the Villa Deux Rivieres) because they had overbooked. Nevertheless, we found the Villa Deux Rivieres to be comfortable and a good value. It is situated toward the far end of Luang Prabang (near the confluence of the Nam Kong and Mekong Rivers). Though it was a bit of a walk to get to the main areas of the city, we enjoyed the quiet locale.
The breakfast was tasty, and such a good way to save money in Luang Prabang. The grounds were nice, especially the leafy courtyard just behind the lobby.
Our room, while a bit small, was comfortably furnished. Because it was on the first floor and toward the back, it didn't get a lot of light. We liked how the windows looked out onto a small backyard and a quiet side street beyond that. The bathroom was spacious and clean, though we had a bit of a problem with the shower drain clogging up.
The staff were friendly and attentive and very eager to please. However, the main desk attendants didn't speak very much English, so it was a bit hard to communicate and made things feel a bit awkward and impersonal at times, especially during the check-in process when we were looking to gather information about the town.
Overall it was a pleasant little place to stay, and a nice value for Luang Prabang, which can be rather pricey.
