Gibbs Glade Villa is an immaculate, wonderfully tranquil, light and spacious, 4 bedroom/ 4 bathroom detached villa, with its own pool, set in a large plot with enclosed, secluded, tropical gardens and ample parking.
Gibbs Glade Villa is in the safe and peaceful neighborhood of Gibbs Glade. Access controlled gates and security cameras provide that extra peace of mind. As we are situated just off the main coast road, its very quiet - no road noise! The villa is within very easy walking distance of 2 glorious beaches, a 24 hour convenience store, plus numerous restaurants and bars, all within a short walk or drive of GGV.
The very popular SeaShed, RWM Mullins, Adrians, CiCi's, Bombas, Heinz and Grandenes are all within walking distance. The Local & Co and Baia restaurants in Speightstown (both new opened and very worthwhile) are approx 5 mins drive.
We are ideally located on the calm 'platinum' west coast, between the authentic Speightstown ( (5 mins) full of Caribbean charm and the more vibrant Holetown with many bars/restaurants, and designer shopping mall, just 10 mins by car.
Vaulted ceilings throughout afford a light and airy feeling, assisted by the gentle trade winds, which help keep the villa nicely cool. There are ceiling fans in every room, as well as on the rear verandah and air conditioning in each bedroom. The open plan layout of this single story property is ideal for multi-generational family holidays, as well as couples getaway-from-it-all stays, with plenty of room for everyone. The villa offers a pleasing inside/out living experience with lots of relaxed seating and ambient dining on the rear terrace overlooking the pool and well lit gardens; a striking backdrop to your evening dining and a wonderful outlook for your relaxed breakfasts, lunches and chilled days just lounging around the pool and terraces.
GIBBS & MULLINS BEACHES:
The hidden gem that is Gibbs Bay (a Caribbean idyll which in my view, is the best beach on the island) with its calm, crystal clear Caribbean waters is tucked away within a short (4 mins) stroll, whilst Mullins beach is just a 5 minute walk, both via short cuts. An early morning dip at Gibbs is not to be missed and is a memory that will stay with you long after the tan has faded!
POOL, GROUNDS & GARDENS:
Set in a third of an acre with a distinctive palm tree perimeter, the carefully tended, tropical gardens surround an attractive, well maintained 20 foot circular swimming pool, with sun loungers, tables and chairs. There are parasols and natural shade provided by the palms, when you need to take a break from the rays and there's an outside shower by the pool for freshening up. This east-facing oasis enjoys all day sun as well as gentle breezes. Keep an eye out for the humming bird who is a regular afternoon visitor and maybe even a monkey or two will pass by......
The grounds are fully enclosed and the whole exterior of the property is frequently fumigated to keep mosquitoes at bay. There are electric mosquito zappers on the rear terrace, plus netting on all windows. Access controlled gates and CCTV cameras, together with all-night 360 degree security lighting provides that extra peace of mind. There's a basketball hoop on the fully enclosed front yard where there is parking for 4 cars.
We are pleased to assist you with all your arrival arrangements including your arrival fast tracks, transfers and we can organise your pre-arrival grocery shop (just provide a list). We highly recommend the five star fast track airport arrival service, to smooth and speed the arrival process and we'd be glad to book this for you at discounted rates. We also recommend letting us book your pick up and you can get any hire car delivered to the villa the next day. We will send a single payment request for all these additional services, plus the stay tax, once you have arrived at the villa.

MASTER BEDROOM has a Super King size bed, AC unit, large fitted pickled pine closets, with central vanities and there is a digital safe. French doors opening to the rear verandah, overlook the pool and gardens.
QUEEN BEDROOM has a King size bed, AC unit, large fitted pickled pine closets, with central vanities with French doors opening onto the front verandah, overlooking the enclosed gardens, gates and front yard.
TWIN ROOM has two US sized single beds, AC unit, with French doors opening onto the front verandah, overlooking the enclosed gardens and front yard.
The GARDEN SUITE is set out on its own by the pool area and has a double bed (a US Full), AC unit, with doors opening directly onto the poolside and rear gardens.
CHILDREN: a foldaway bed, a travel crib with mosquito net, highchair and a paddling pool can all be made available at no extra cost.
There's plenty of solar heated hot water, provide by two large twin tanks. Each bathroom is en-suite, with a step in corner shower, with the exception of the family bathroom, which has a bath with a shower over. Each bathroom has a retractable magnifying mirror, hairdryer and bathrobes. We supply tissues, cosmetic pads, hand soap and shower gel.
LIVING ROOM: a wonderfully light and airy space, with French doors front and rear with plenty of casual seating and a writing desk. There's also portable Bose Bluetooth speaker.
KITCHEN/BARBECUE: well-equipped with modern appliances including a multi-function electric oven with ceramic hob, large refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, blender, juicer, toaster and a washing machine, exclusively for guest use. There's a large multi-burner gas barbecue on the rear terrace and a 40" Hi-Def flat screen TV with cable package above the large granite breakfast bar.
STUDIO: near the pool houses a 55" curved ultra HD TV with full cable, Netflix and DVD player, comfy leather sofa, rowing machine, exercise bike, light weights and yoga mats.
A car is recommended, for exploring the island, but by no means essential. Our guests get a 15% discount at Stoutes, the leading car rental company on the island. Alternatively for the more adventurous, we are on the main bus route, from Speightstown to Bridgetown. The bus stop is a 7 mins walk. Taxis are readily available at reasonable cost and Kirk runs our preferred service.
LOCAL SUPERMARKETS/SHOP/FISH MARKET:
There are a couple of supermarkets within an easy drive. Massy in Holetown for a wide range of brands and Jordans in Speightstown, for more local shopping, keenly priced. Speightstown also has a baker and fruit & veg stalls. There's a 24/7 petrol station at Mullins, which is within walking distance (500 meters) that has a wide selection of convenience items available. The local fish market, Millie Ifill, is a 7 mins drive.
Sophia, our outstanding housekeeper (vaccinated) usually comes in Mon-Fri for six hours from early. She will start out in the laundry room and will not come up to the house until everyone is up and about. Nigel is our cheerful groundsman, comes in around the same time, so he'll have the pool deck area nicely cleaned before most guests start their day. The pool is tended weekly by the wonderful Wayne. As the villa and grounds has lots of space, the presence of discrete GGV staff should never impinge upon the feeling of our guests privacy. And our excellent property manager, Shenee, (vaccinated) is on hand at all times for any queries you might have, as is the owner, Maria (UK).
GUEST ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES:
We have a minimum two night gap in between guests(usually longer) to allow for full covid cleaning protocols. We do not strictly enforce a set check-in/check-out time, but it would usually be midday and 16:00. However, we aim to work to the individual needs of guests , as far as we're able and we will always try to accommodate an early check-in or late check-out request. Additional fees may apply.
GOVERNMENT STAY TAXES:
The Government of Barbados have mandatory room levies which apply to all visitors staying in all paid accommodation. For villas, this is charged at 10% of the nightly villa rental rate. A payment request for this Shared Economy Levy will be sent through once you have arrived at the villa. I will confirm the amount of stay tax due upon booking.
Travellers can now enter with a negative Rapid Antigen Test or Rapid PCR Test taken within 1 or 3 days of travel. In everyone's best interests, we only accept vaccinated guests (excluding children). Please refer to the latest government protocols for Barbados at https://www.visitbarbados.org We are an officially Approved Villa for quarantine purposes.
In addition to the defined VRBO cancellation terms; Guests who are unable to travel as planned, may choose to either transfer their dates (30 days prior to arrival), or deduct any cancellation fee paid, from a future booking.
