Great Hotel - Convenient Location
We absolutely loved the building and our room. Our room was a studio apartment with a full kitchen, table & chairs, couch, and a king size bed. We saved so much money by having the kitchen and eating some meals in.

The location is good and the property is fairly represented by pictures (with a little wear and tear). However, on our 1st day our smaller bathroom flooded. Our bedrooms and bathrooms were subterranean requiring a pumping system for water/sewage removal from bathrooms (this system is unpleasantly loud) and the pump in the smaller bathroom broke. So instead of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for 4 adults, we had 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Our stay was 11 days long, costing approximately $4000. Our compensation for this inconvenience was a cot, stoop waffles, and a bottle of wine. I would have expected being moved to another properly working apartment (they were booked entirely so not possible) or some prorated financial compensation. There were other more minor issues: failure to refresh room as indicated would happen by staff when we arrived at check in (requiring me to go to staff to request fresh towels, having lost a couple to the flooded bathroom). Waking up to 59 degree temps Fahrenheit and a nonfunctioning tv (to their credit these issues were remedied quickly).

Character filled modern aparthotel a short walk from central Amsterdam. All amenities for self catering. Second bedroom was a loft with very steep stairs and no bathroom - good for teenagers but not suitable for younger kids or adults.

Great staff and place to stay -- but one issue
Enjoyed our weeklong stay overall. Staff was amazing and location convenient to metro and tram. Nice little kitchen that was fresh and stocked with all you would need to cook (though I did not) and some goodies for that first night. Access to free laundry. Unfortunately, though the apartment felt very fresh and clean the shower had mold along the entire base that was disturbing and rather out of place. Impossible to not see every time you walk into the bathroom. We stayed for a week so there was only one "refresh" that just consisted of towel replacement and garbage removed. It should have included cleaning the bathroom especially due to this mold issue.

The room we stayed in was nice and open, and it had pretty much everything we needed. We did pay for a king bed, but what we got seemed to be more like a queen. I'm not sure if the beds are just generally smaller in Europe, but it was very comfortable. When we arrived, the room had just finished being cleaned, and when we got to our room, we later discovered that we didn't have any hand soap. We could've asked the front desk, but I'd brought a bar of soap with me so we weren't too bothered. About halfway through our stay, hand soap, bodywash, shampoo, and conditioner were dropped off in our room. There is a nice lounge area just above the lobby that has a great cappuccino machine, and there is wifi there and in your room. I find it odd that wifi isn't available throughout the hotel, but it wasn't too much of a problem for us. The lobby is the only place that has air conditioning, so prepare to have a warm room, even with the windows propped. The location was very nice - we had a canal view, and it's within a 40 minute walk of just about anything. Please be wary if you choose to rent bikes through them - even though we locked our bikes, one of our keys fell out of its holder (a maintenance issue) and it must have landed on the ground right beside the bike, because when we returned, the bike was stolen, and we had to pay 750 euro (over $1000 CAD) to replace the bike. Despite this, we had a good stay.
