My experience at Moon Palace The Grand Cancun
I was satisfied with the facilities, except the price was almost $500 off just before the stay compared to the price booked at Hotels.com three months ago. Unfortunately, Hotels.com and Grand Moon Palace gave no clear answer to this difference in amount. Fortunately, I could stay in a spacious room because I upgraded to a higher version of the room at the time of check-in. The restaurants were decent compared to other hotels, and I was satisfied with the food taste from various countries. However, the most shocking fact was the water park. My family was unaware that the water park was under construction during my stay, and I did not receive any prior notice from Hotels.com and Grand Moon Palace. The hotel provided Ventura Park tickets, but I was disappointed by the relatively poor facilities. I chose this hotel because of the water park and was disappointed that I did not enjoy these benefits. If I knew I couldn't use the water park, I would have chosen alternatives other than this hotel.

4/10 Fair

Fifth trip to Moon Palace, second to the Grand. They have greatly upgraded the four row golf carts that shuttle guests around. The architecture and design is amazing. There is stuff to do, or not do, everywhere. Beaches are maintained industriously which keeps them beautiful. The Resort has decided to hold some concerts. While we were there, Dave Matthews had been performing. He was replaced by Phish. We stayed in a different 'pod' of the resort than the one that hosted Phish. A few nights into our vacation people moved next door. Rudest guests ever. We did not sleep for four nights. They would come back from the Phish concert and talk until dawn in full voices. I called the resort twice on our last night and nothing changed. TO THE PEOPLE IN 94-127: Some people work to cure cancer; others take their pride in going to to their 104th fish concert. Lose the 3X tie dyes, stop taking molly in front of your teenage children (because they KNOW), and stop being 'adult children'. The Front Desk the next morning told me this was a big problem through the resort. They also told me the typical Ugly American stories that make us cringe. The food, while plentiful, was often not good. The Indian Food, which this resort often has had in good quality and variety was absent. Twice, upon request, they made our son nut free pancakes and waffles, which is a big effort for them- thank you. Food was widely available, slow to come, and usually meh,
