An enjoyable stay
Though it's not in the tourist area, it's quite close. You get to use the bamboo bridge, an inexpensive laundry place is nearby, and it's quite. Staff were all fabulous. K & M (clerks - I forgot the full names!) were both incredibly helpful and friendly. Cleaning staff did great work. Owner was kind. Food was enjoyable. You must pre-select each day before, and I was never disappointed in each option (and I took a different one each day). The bread is fabulous.

Excellent stay, the best hosts
Amazing stay here. Excellent location as it was a quick walk to the bamboo bridge but away from the noise. The staff were wonderful and lovely people who did so much to make us feel comfortable. Enjoyed talked to them and I wish them the absolute best. I would highly recommend this location. Great value, breakfast, and the best people.

Jewel in the rough
Gong and Kone were fantastic receptionists and most eager to make me feel at home. So the owner. This is the place if you look to feel at ease and welcome. It is a family business going back generations, a business that respects itself and the client. The location is super close by foot or bicycle graciously offered freely by the house to the center of town. Very very authentic and off the beaten track, sheltered from the flow of tourists. Very clean and airy spaces to sit and read or meditate. The breakfast is included and with many good choices well done. This is not your run of the mill place but Laos isn’t either. I highly recommend and shall return.

Perfect home away from home
A good place to land. Then you want to stay as you get familiar with place and the friendly reception and care by Fong, Kone, and the owner, too. They all do their best to make it easy and comfortable. Bamboo bridge near to town by foot. Bikes offered and breakfast very good.

The world's best host and a good place to stay
Kham Phone is one of the best hosts we have encountered in our decades of travel. His graciousness, service, and concern made our stay something we will remember with great fondness. The guesthouse itself is well located, clean, and new. We extended our stay.

I am torn about this place. On the one hand it is very cheap, so what can you expect. On the other hand I've stayed at amazing hotels in south east asia for only a little bit more a night. The guy who runs it is very very kind and gives you a transfer to the airport. The location is fantastic, right by the bamboo bridge. But the room itself is not so great, the shower is just a shower head almost totally on top of the loo with a moldy shower curtain. I had stained sheets on the bed with what I think might have been blood. They had been washed, but still I think really the hotel should invest in new sheets in that situation. Kindof weird old blanket on the bed that looked like it was a child's duvay and cover. I think the cleaners let in a lot of mosquitos when they clean because the room seemed to have a lot of them. The building itself is beautiful however.

Stayed for 8 nights.
The owner of the guesthouse Mr Kam Phone sets this place apart. From the airport pickup on day one to the bus drop off on our last day he was always available to assist us with local events, tours, boat trips, massages and even gave us a couple rides around town. The free bikes are in good shape the free breakfast is substantial, short walk to the centre, friendly staff. It’s clean. Definitely recommend!

The owner, Mr. Kim, was very helpful. He arranged tours for us and helped us see the area. Mr. Kim really took care of his guests. The guesthouse is very affordable and clean. All of the workers were hospitable. We would definitely stay there again. If you do stay here, ask for directions to get to the bamboo bridge that connects to downtown. It is at the end of a road that looks like it leads to nowhere. It would be helpful, if someone put a sign telling travelers where to go.
