Just Perfect
Another perfect stay. Great staff, food, drinks and spotlessly clean. What more do you want.

Superb little find
We stayed in the yew Tree Apartment. It was clean and spacious, with 2 double bedrooms, open plan kitchen / diner / seating area. Large shower + roll top bath. Parking was on the street directly outside. Had a meal in the Plough that evening service was friendly and quality of the food was superb. Would definitely consider staying again

Fabulous little inn, very nicely appointed rooms and excellent food. Sadly we only had breakfast on one morning of our two day stay as we waited over an HOUR for it to come. Felt so sorry for the lovely member of staff who seemed to be singly handedly doing everything. There was apparently a new chef and I realise that Covid is causing problems but it marred our stay.We were about to get up and leave when it finally arrived. I’m sure this was a one off incident and I’d definitely recommend The Plough inn.

first class
First class accommodation in a quiet rural street, ate in the plough for dinner and the yew tree for breakfast, both were excellent.

Good 6.0
Good room, not so good restaurant experience
We had a one night stay at The Plough to round off a long weekend away. We were shown to our room and have to say it was very impressive. Luxurious in many ways, fantastic shower, bed, tv etc . Very happy to see my wife was happy so no issues here. We discovered the next morning that the coffee machine was not working properly (it kept stopping early) and there was no price list for the mini bar anywhere. These were the only two niggles with the room. As far as the food goes we had booked earlier in the week as the reviews were impressive. We were led to a table in a moderately busy restaurant and this is where things started to go downhill. To start with it was a rather long time before our initial drink order was taken, we both opted for the mixed meat roast with no starter but that didn't arrive for just over an hour which was not great as we thought we would be eating nearer to 8pm than 9pm. We had asked for table water but that never turned up, there was no apple sauce, nor crackling, the plates were cold, my plate had food residue stuck to the underside of it , probably from the dishwasher. The cauliflower had a runny yellow liquid under it which was probably the 'cheese' and I had some beef 'string' in my meal. Basically a disappointing end to our holiday. Spoke to the Manager. There was plenty of apple sauce and crackling in the kitchen apparently. The food and drinks were removed from the bill. We opted not to stay for the pudding. Hopefully a one-off.
