Hilltop Guesthouse

They did not clean my room or even made the bed and when I confronted them, they said to clean the bathroom is not part of their job and that they did not have a key to unlock the room so if I want my room cleaned, I need to leave it unlocked when I am out. There is not even a breakfast room, I had to eat a small table just outside my room, while the cleaners walked past me the next two days to clean. (which was a job half done) The room is extremely small and the interior very old. Never again. This guest house should be removed from hotels.com. I've booked with hotels.com for over four years now and was always satisfied, but this guest house is definitely not up to standard.

The property is amazing. The view is great and the pool area is lovely. The rooms are small, but cozy and clean. The showers have terrific water pressure and make you feel extra clean.

Wonderful little guest house close to Joe's Beerhouse. Breakfast is something special. Just wish they had an honor bar with drinks and snacks or something like that.

I was allocated room 7, a single room with a single bed. This room is located down at the far end of the property isolated from the main dwelling, all by itself. And after what seemed an eternity of steps going downhill. The real surprise was the sketchy internet access, not surprising really given the distance from the main house. It was a small room sans security - the collapsible trellis gate had no locking mechanism on it. And the only door was a glass panel door that wouldn't need too much effort for any criminal to break into. In short it was tolerable but not something I would put myself through again or wish on any weary traveler. And when told about the poor internet access, the owner politely said there's nothing he can do!

I was only here for one night but it was a lovely place to stay and I would stay again. Clean comfortable rooms. Clean bathrooms with good water pressure. Nice outdoor pool and sitting area. The very best hotel/hostel breakfast I’ve had in 4 months of traveling. A little out of down up in the hills but comes with a nice view. Doesn’t take long to get anywhere by taxi. A perfect nights stay!

Although I only stayed overnight, I was well looked after at the Hilltop Guesthouse, especially during the breakfast. I was given a spread of a variety of specially prepared food and drinks. I also had a chance to chat briefly with the proprietors (if I'm not mistaken), and that made me feel so much at home. My room--a separate villa was cozy and very tidy, and I really appreciated the fact they had fresh apple and cookies in the room. I will definitely recommend Hilltop Guesthouse to visitors who wish to stay in the lovely city of Windhoek.
