Very friendly staff. A perfect venue to experience what makes Newport Newport. Room was comfortable, but very minimal. There was only the bed to sit on, and no desk on which to write or use your computer.

WinterFest getaway
Nice room with a view of the bay and surrounding area. Comfortable bed. The only slight complaint was the baseboard heater making clicking noises when it would turn on or off (from expansion and contraction, most likely) It would only last a few seconds. Excellent value for the price. We have dined at the Safari Room several times over the years but this was our first overnight stay on the property.

Clean room. Desk staff was super friendly. Nice atmosphere. Nice view. Comfy bed. Good pillows. Not enough outlets-hard to plug in phone chargers and iron. Room was cold and there is no individual room thermostat. Maid knocked on door when the do-not-disturb sign was up. Coffee table had super sharp corners. Good restaurant downstairs. Plenty of parking.

Somewhere in the middle
We were delighted to know that they upgraded us to Gate house when we checked in. It was very large and beautiful. However the mattress was horribly uncomfortable. And in the middle of the night the radiator made a horrible noise. However, it was a whole house to ourselves and the privacy was worth it.
