My family and I did a 2D1N staycation in early February 2020. It's been over a month since, and I still find myself having to leave this negative review now, because I simply can't let it go: with the immensely negative experience at check-out, and terrible after-service, it's no wonder that the only impression that has lasted is an ugly one!
During check-in, we were told that there would be free parking for all hotel guests. However, no further instruction was given as to how the free parking would be activated. Upon check-out, we had asked at the reception counter, just to be sure, if we would be charged any parking fees now that we were leaving the hotel. The reception staff simply replied that there would be no charges, and once again, there was no advice on anything else that needed to be done.
Lo and behold, when we drove out of the carpark, we were slapped with a $40+ parking fee! Confused, we drove back to the hotel porch, and sought help from the reception staff. It was only then that the concierge informed us that we should have asked them for a free parking ticket first.
Long story short, the reception staff made no attempt to mediate the situation, assigned blame to their colleagues in the concierge team, and blamed us for not having explicitly asked for a parking ticket. I don't know about you, but all the other hotels I have ever been to would've agreed that THE ONUS IS ON THE HOTEL STAFF TO PRE-EMPT THEIR HOTEL GUESTS' NEEDS.
