Gross and nasty
The bathroom was dirty not cleaned. You walked in not knowing if you'll turn the lights on for the cocklroaches or not. It was to the point we were about to go to bed and we were worried about what would be crawling on our faces while we slept. The food was not very good, we had wings and a sandwich and both are sub par--we should've gone to McDonald's for a better meal. We left at midnight and checked into another hotel. We lost our money on this place.

Interesting place, but needs a bit of TLC.
Stevens Inn is an interesting place to stay. It reminds me of a retro resort that was probably exceptional in its day - and it still fills a need and has much promise. We made use of the guest laundry and appreciated that the price for wash and dry were reasonable. The pool was open, but not heated. Kids still loved it even with their shivers. The hotel was busy with lots of rooms rented to company workers. The room was in poor condition. The fridge didn't work. Toilet would only flush if you held the handle for the full cycle and then you had to manually stop it from running water. The sink drained so slowly that we had to scoop water out and dump in the toilet. The remote didn't work for the tv. Breakfast was minimal. On the plus, it was nice to find someplace reasonably-priced near to Carlsbad Caverns. I left a list of the problems with the front desk. Hopefully they make the repairs before the next person checks in. I would suppose those items can slip through if they aren't reported and I give them the benefit of the doubt.

Great stay
Clean and quiet rooms. Big and spacious. Breakfast was good but kind of scanty. Had the basics though biscuits, gravy scramnled eggs and pancakes. All the Staff was very nice snd attentive. Overall it was a great stay.

Older motel. Stains on the bedspreads were a big turn off. Bed was just ok for comfort. Toilet would run unless we lifted the lid of the tank and put the flapper down. A/C didn’t blow cold. Breakfast was better than most. Location is good.
