Termas de Papallacta was one of the best places we have stayed in our global travels. We loved the numerous hot springs pools scattered throughout the facility. The room, bed and bathroom were very comfortable. Food was excellent and staff were very helpful. We both had superb massages and enjoyed the spa. We enjoyed the hiking trail upslope from the property, especially the signage to identify plants. We even saw Antisana on a clear morning! Termas de Papallacta is an amazing and unique place to stay.

If in Quito, a must visit for a few days! From the hikes, the view, the food to the hot springs, just a perfect time!

    Gorgeous, but over priced.

Very highly priced resort in the cloud forest, small pools in front of the rooms and the public balneario are included. The spa pools are requiring an additional entry fee! Also, be aware that every room has a beautiful porch in front of it, but every guest uses that also, so it was loud to say the least and not relaxing. We had to request a space heater because the floor heat could not keep up with temps in the 30’s. The landscape around is gorgeous!

High standard service and design, it’s spa is world class. The food is good, but it can be improved to match the rest.

    Disappointing.

Room was small hot, stuffy without air conditioner. Beds were hard and made it difficult to sleep. In the morning my husband hit and scratches his face very hard because of the inappropriately opened door. Nobody even apologies and just told him that it was his fault. It seems like that safety of the visitors is not their priorities. The staff was not friendly and did not speak English. The pools have been overcrowded and not comfortable. Hotel staff arranged for "taxi" to Quito with the driver who did not know city and failed to deliver us to our next hotel. After 1h looking for hotel, we had to let his go and took another taxi. The only positive was great breakfast with a large varieties of dishes. For the price of the hotel I expected much better service.

This place is gorgeous and the staff were wonderful! The staff were welcoming and professional, and everything felt very well-managed and seamless. There is a hiking trail where you can go up the mountain and see waterfalls and llamas. Most importantly the springs themselves were absolutely gorgeous and very rejuvenating!! They were extremely well maintained and clean. I was honestly blown away and would recommend this spot to friends and family looking for a restorative adventure where you get to see nature and also relax. Also the hotel seemed very LGBT friendly — lots of queer couples and groups visiting!!
