LOVED Husafell! What a unique and delightful find! The rooms and facilities are superior, full luxury and decadent. The restaurant is sublime, fantastic food and service. Make a reservation as they book up. The pools are wonderful, several pools with different temperatures. Hiking is available, many different lengths and strenuous-ness. And the tours are plentiful, try the Glacier tour!

It’s a long walk to your room

Our room was incredible. The amenities are nice, but we don’t golf or do those sorts of activities. The restaurant is very nice.

Just OK and better to limit it to 1 night

Was OK. Clean and efficient but nothing special for a high price. No special views, service was not great and food / restaurant was just OK (and clearly less good than at other places in Iceland)

Beautiful place but avoid the onsite pool

The hotel is beautiful and the scenery stunning. However, I didn’t realize it would cost us $24 extra to use their onsite pool. It wasn’t worth that. And don’t be fooled by the picture of the pools in their description. Those are the Canyon pools which are not onsite. If not for that, we really enjoyed the food and our stay.

Beautiful property and excellent restaurant with great staff. Lovely views and beautiful rooms. However, please note that the description here on Expedia is not accurate, the small pools are not part of the hotel (although in the complex) and you have to pay to get in. Moreover, they are public and shared with the huge camping site around the hotel.

    Slightly Disappointing

It was fairly disappointing that all of the amenities closed very early at 7 pm and required an extra charge. The hot springs shown in the photos are an expensive day trip and the pool room is shared with the adjacent campground and vacation community. Paying for use of this pool as a hotel guest seems inappropriate. Really no amenities on site. Nice hotel though and good albeit expensive restaurant.

Hotel Husafell is a beautiful property. The facility feels new and fresh, and the room was comfortable and clean. Some of the staff was new and needed some help to answer our questions, but they were all friendly and tried to help. The front desk provided a map of several hikes we could do on our own. Plus, we took the guided hike to the Husafell Canyon Baths, which was a great experience. And meals in the restaurant were very good. Overall, we would recommend a visit to the Husafell area, and a stay at Hotel Husafell.

    Good management saved the experience

The hotel is very clean and the rooms are excellent. However, the pools were under maintenance when we were there and they forgot to mention this on certain sites. The manager did give us a free trip to the hot springs as compensation, and it was quite lovely. They also allowed us to stay in the room until 6 in the evening, which was exactly what we needed. One of the receptionists wasn't very good at his job, but the rest were very helpful. Breakfast was nice, nothing to write home about though. Dinner was a bit expensive but did provide a fun experience. All in all? A very good experience. The manager's attitude really saved it for us.
