Vicky is so amazing! Our flight got in after midnight, and by the time we got our bags and car we didn’t arrive until 02:00 am. Vicky stayed up and waited for us to arrive, despite the hours being only until 6:00 pm. She cooked us a wonderful breakfast and gave great recommendations for first time Costa Rican’s!! 10/10 would recommend.

Convenient secure hotel close to the airport.
This was a secure location to stay with only an 8 minute drive to the airport. The breakfast was excellent. I never did get through the entire list of cable channels which had many programs in English. The room was quiet and comfortable.

Good budget option near the airport. Very friendly staff. Left before breakfast but probably didn't need to as I was at the airport and thru security within an hour.

Convenient, clean accommodation for SJO but...
Stayed at the Bamboo as we had an early morning flight from SJO. It is approximately 10 minutes from the airport. The place is very clean and welcoming. The lady who met us did not speak English, but she had English notes on our reservation. I had emailed ahead to say we had a 6:30am flight, and they had put sandwiches a drink and cookies in the fridge as we were missing breakfast, very kind of them, and recommended and booked a taxi for us at 3:30am, AND the lady woke up to meet us for the taxi. The room had two double beds, clean linen, a fridge, TV and a door to a balcony. The bathroom was very kitsch, it was the bright pink one in the pictures. On the downside, although we were opposite the church, even parking the car outside for a few minutes whilst we checked in, before returning it to the car rental place, it was being cased by a youth. There is onsite parking if you are staying and it is behind a locked gate. The balcony goes onto razor wire. The air conditioning was very loud and not very effective. We were at the front of the building and it was REALLY noisy, motorbikes, cars, then 20 minutes of fireworks whilst we were trying to sleep, it was 29th December, so not an obvious firework night. Then at 2:30 a cockerel started to cock-a-doodle-doo, I wish it would cock a doodle don't. Final comment, I searched for a 4 person accommodation and found a good price here but once I got the statement it was double. This was due to extra fees due to the children
