Profile: Shinbashi

Profile: Shinbashi

Shinbashi, a railway station in central Tokyo, is what many call the real Tokyo. Here, you will discover bars and eateries that serve “shitimachi,” also known as "low town" cuisine. While you go local, you are still only two stops south of the city's epicenter, Tokyo Station.

If you have ever been curious about sake, the four-story Sake Plaza, a 10-minute walk from the station, features anything and everything—books, glasses, etc.—related to sake, including, of course, the drink.

  • 8.0.Very good

Reasonable location within the city, just 5-10 minutes walk from the nearby metro stations; room size is ok with tokyo standard; a very standard apa style business hotel, though small, typically you can find everything you need; easy to locate convenient stores nearby that provide basics you need, and not difficult to locate a restaurant for lunch or dinner (but not late-night)

I stayed at APA for 2 weeks, and it was a good experience overall. The room was very small (as expected), but it was clean and in a good location. It met my expectations and did the job, but I didn’t spend much time in the room outside of sleeping.

    Bad hotel stay in Japan

This is a worst hotel we stay in Japan. When we arrived the hotel about 12.30pm, hotel's room not ready. We advised by staff to wait until 3pm then can check in. And we wait at lobby until 3pm then staff call us for check in.We did asked hotel's staff inform us when the room is ready but they don't bother us. The room is very small, but still acceptable. The cleanliness is really bad! Have blood stain on quilt. Choke on bathtub, even told hotel's staff on this issue but the problem still unable solve during our stay. The air-conditioning is control by centralise. The weather was change but the system still under heater. We have open the windows during our stay.

Teeny Tiny Room and a horribly soft bed.

The room was ridiculously small and the bed was so soft that we sunk in the middle of it and got a terrible night of sleep.

Definitely didn't like that there was one single elevator for a 15-story building. The other APA I stayed at in Osaka had less floors but two elevators. But, this APA's room layout was far superior with simple things such as more hanger hooks.
