On arrival we were tired after a long journey. The receptionist really needed to go back to hotel school to learn how to welcome guests. She was cold and unhelpful. When we asked if we could eat something in the hotel restaurant, we were told “it’s full”.. we asked if she could check .... “no” was the one word answer from the kitchen . They couldn’t be arsed to serve us... so went out to find something in the town ... were virtuallly everything was closed at 20.30 hrs... not a good experience. The room was drab and in need of renovation. Clean enough apart from the stained carpets.. this hotel needs to get some more friendly and helpful staff.
I like the ambience of this hotel, which started as a wrecked old farmhouse but brought to life again as an interesting and attractive hotel with a countryside feel to it. The rooms are now getting a bit down at heel and could do with some update, but that has not stopped me coming back here on visits to the area because the other advantages of the hotel are so nice. Breakfast offers a good choice and is in the same building whilst evening meals are in the old castle building over the road. There is also a nice park with lakes you can walk around, which makes a good start to the day. Altogether pleasant.
Comfortable inn with beautiful surroundings. Rooms are a bit worn but comfortable and clean. Nice breakfast and cozy bar with a wide selection of Belgian beers.
Beautiful location but the rooms could use an overhaul. We were up on the 3rd floor (no lifts) which made trips out with my dog a bit of a challenge.
The hotel was ok, never quite as you expect in the pictures. But the staff were friendly enough and the breakfast was good and varied. Room needed updating but had all we needed. Local area had a good restaurant Juliette and the bar in the hotel was buzzing, tho probably because of the people with us. It was a good base for where we wanted to go so it did for us.
Needs an update!!! Been a guest here for 30 years and it’s looking it’s age. Needs renovation
We were came down to breakfast just before cutoff time and it was disappointing for the price .
A modernized old building in a very nice semi-rural location, with evening restaurant across the lane in an attractive old castle. Meals in the restaurant are delicious although somewhat expensive. Breakfast is in the main hotel building and is very good. The semi-rural location offers a pleasant walk around lakes in the valley. Fairly convenient also for nearby Aachen as well as South Limburg Holland where it is actually located.
Prima. Mooie locatie.
Helaas uiterst teleurstellend.
