Ideal for exploring area
Excellent place for a base for exploring the area both north and south of the border. Lovely views over fields towards coast. Rooms basic, but comfortable, spacious and clean. Breakfast sets you up for the day. Plenty parking. Enjoyed our stay, thank you.

Exerllent place to stay, staff where exerllent and tryed there best to sort out any queries, good clean room with loverly view out the window! Exerllent breakfast, The only drawback was that there was no shower gel for having a shower and the staff could not find any, but having said that i would stay there again and would recommend it.

In a good position for exploring the coast. Felt the hotel could do with an upgrade. Rooms looked a bit tired and could do with a refurb. However our stay was good and staff helpful.

Northumberland
Was not expecting much as described as truck stop but that does not give this place justice. Think as a family run premier inn and you have the right idea. Although right on A1 never heard a thing, beautiful view from room across fields to sea and staff could not have been friendlier or helpful. Good sleep good breakfast and plenty of it

The location just off the A1 was ideal for travel to the coast and Northumbria National Park by car. Travel from the site on foot is not viable. The room was clean and of a reasonable standard. It offered distant views of Banburgh Castle and the Farne Islands across open farmland. It was equipped with both a shower and bath which was very welcome, however the water pressure on the shower was not great. The quality of the food was good and the staff were very friendly and hard working. Staff were however a little thin on the ground which adversely affected service at times. We had seven breakfasts. Service at six of them was OK but one morning we waited 20 minutes to be served with coffee and 40 minutes for a bowl of porridge. We had three evening meals. Service at two of them was good. On the third occasion we waited 75 minutes for two steaks. Overall we enjoyed our one week stay.

Staff are amazing!
The staff are what really make this place shine, the rooms are small and a bit dated (2 adults, 1 child and a dog) but clean and comfortable. But the staff where all amazing and made our stay including a meal in the bar Which was delicious, very pleasing and we felt very welcome by both the evening and morning shift.
