Love this place!
Love staying at the Portonovo. It is close to the beach and the Malecon and Old Town and restaurants and Isla de Cuale. It is older but sparkling clean. I love the Mexican vibe and being fed that tastey mexican breakfast every morning is a great way to start the day. This is my second time and will not be my last. Did I mention the superb service by all of the staff?

The morning crew when I checked in was very cold(I usually encounter friendly and welcoming staff in Mexico). I believe they were at the end of their shift. The day crew were super friendly and accommodating.

Tribble... The staff were very rude and uncooperative. We arrived at 1:30, the room was ready but he insisted that we should come back and check-in at 3 pm. STANDARD ROOMS ARE VERY SMALL WITH NO WINDOW...TOWELS ARE DIRTY LOOKING... .We asked for a cup and took them 30 minutes to give us a paper cup, the breakfast was awful. The hotel is located between 2 major Rd, additionally there was a construction next door, so it was very very noisy. DO GO THERE!!!! PAY MORE NAD STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL.

This is a budget hotel in the middle of old-town Puerto Vallarta. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The roof area is a great spot to hang out and is where the lovely buffet breakfast is served. Shout out to the breakfast crew! They really take care of the guests. There is parking on site, which is super convenient, but also, if you plan to spend most of your time in old town, the hotel is within walking distance of everything (driving in old town is a little crazy, so you are better off walking). If you are looking for a budget option, I highly recommend! This is the third time I have stayed here, and I will come back.
