Wonderful atmosphere and dedicated friendly staff. Delightful oasis on the edge of all the action and would highly recommend.

Bad location
As a casual tourist this hotel is too far away from the “action”, it is 1.3 miles from the main square where the restaurants and stores are. Too close for a taxi and pretty far to walk after a long day of touring. I feel the location makes this a poor choice for visitors.

Charming hotel in easy reach of city centre
The hotel was charming. All the staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. The hotel is a reasonable walk from the centre, and there are 2 restaurants right nearby. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 for everything is because the hairdryer was useless, and our bath towels weren’t changed

Could do better
Generally good, but could so easily have been better. Night porter not very helpful.

Exceptional 10.0
This is a traditional hotel in an old building with lots of character. It was lovely and warm-great when it was so cold outside. The staff on reception are very friendly and helpful especially the lady who advised us on where to eat and booked a taxi for us. Our bedroom and bathroom were comfortable and well equipped. Our only complaint would be that the breakfast area is rather small - we were either placed next to a door or a hot radiator! However the breakfast itself was good.

Small and friendly
Small and friendly hotel, perfect for my needs and fairly close to Bologna city centre..about 15 mins walk.

A bit disappointing
My sister and I based our current trip to Italy on availability at this hotel. The staff on Reception were invariably charming and helpful, making dinner reservations for us, calling a taxi for the train and sorting out an onward reservation in Firenze. Unfortunately, the breakfast service let the hotel down. The setting was ideal, in a quiet courtyard shaded by old trees, but the staff were unwelcoming, no smiles nor even buongiorno! The fresh fruit was limited to two choices and the bread and rolls too hard to eat. Everything was crammed in, and on Saturday morning when every table was taken, you had to queue just to grab a plate or bowl. The rubbish bin in the room was too small, so overflowing onto the floor and our hand towels were not refolded when our room was cleaned, making it look untidy. The noise of trundled suitcases, toilets flushing and showers running from the hallways and adjacent rooms in the early morning awakened us, making further sleep impossible.
