The room was beautiful and tastefully decorated. Check-in was smooth and welcoming, and the hotel itself had a stylish and elegant atmosphere. The rooftop pool and café were absolutely fantastic and a real highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was the complete opposite. The service was incredibly rude and disappointing. The staff were arrogant, unfriendly, and largely absent. I would rate the breakfast service 1 out of 6. It was genuinely frustrating, especially since every other aspect of our stay was so enjoyable.

Pros: The breakfast was amazing! The staff were EXCELLENT.. SO kind and helpful! 💛Rooms were incredibly clean. Cons: The rooms were hot (could barely feel any A/C, so it was hard to sleep) and the showers weren’t too warm. Also, the location wasn’t the best.. wish we had stayed closer to Old Town.

Clean and well presented modern boutique hotel. We were disappointed when we had to wait longer than we were originally told to check in, with the reception staff stating they had a busy night the night before and all rooms hadn’t been cleaned yet. However, for this inconvenience they gave us a complimentary drink each to have at the bar next to the pool area. The hotel set the AC to 22 degrees Celsius and it was centrally controlled by them. It was very warm in our room at times because we couldn’t lower the AC temperature, and so we had to ask for a stand alone fan which helped cool us down. Stand out helpful staff were Thibault and Eugenie who were accommodating when we asked if we could leave our bags in the hotel 2 days after checking out (once we returned from another hotel further down the coast). This was very helpful as we had an evening flight but wanted to explore Nice some more without dragging our bags around. Having Nice Riquier train station a few minutes walking distance was very handy and prior to arrival we did not know about this and assumed we would have had to have walked to a Nice Ville to catch the train. Great trip from Thibault!

This hotel has a fun, consistent aesthetic. They leaned into the maximalism trend in a clean understandable way. The staff gives great dining recommendations and it’s walkable to most needs. The pool, bar and restaurant are lovely. *They should add some missing details to make it feel more upscale: a gym, robes, washcloths, conditioner and coffee/tea.

Love the stay at Mamas. This was my first time and will definitely come back again. The staff was polite, informative and helpful. The hotel itself was very fun and nice in design. It’s different in a very good way! The breakfast could vary a bit, but it’s fine if you don’t stay here too long.

Comfortable and happy stay at Mama Shelter. The bed was super comfy! Staff are very welcoming and friendly. A little walk from tram stop and seafront but very near Nice Riquier station - perfect for day trips - and only a few minutes from a good range of restaurants and bars. Buffet breakfast decent with a good amount of choice. Options for the restaurant and terrace menus are a but decent. The room had no kettle so way of making hot drinks, which is disappointing, and surprising given the level of hotel. I also couldn’t get the air conditioning to work. I kept forgetting to ask reception about it but at one point the control screen said “centrally controlled”. It meant the room never cooled down and it was uncomfortably warm at night which meant poor nights sleeping despite the comfy bed. Overall, I liked the hotel, but the warm room and lack of coffee/tea making in room would probably mean choosing elsewhere if I returned to Nice.

A quiet, clean, comfortable hotel that is close to a train station. There is a Carre Four express across the street. All of the staff were polite, helpful and willing to listen to my attempts as speaking French. A bit quirky with masks of Looney Tune characters on the lamps in the rooms. Only 4* for the are because the restaurant selections within a 10’ walk were not plentiful. I would definitely stay here again

We loved how reliable Mama Shelter was for our trip. Kataryna is fantastic! with great knowledge of fun things to do for night life & Simon with great outdoor recommendations! This is a brand new property so everything was clean and new which was very nice. Location has a very local vibe near to highway so good of your driving to Monaco or Canne. You can walk to the port in 10 minutes which was great. We would for sure stay in Mama Shelter again!
