Overall our stay was pretty good.
Room: the rooms were nice but could use some updating. They were clean. A couple of days/nights our a/c did not work well, the hotel could change to make it better by relocating the ceiling fans above the beds rather than over the couch. This is not a 5-star resort by US standards, but it’s good for Mexico.
Resort:
The resort is huge. You will have to walk, a lot. There is a shuttle service offered but we never had a chance to use it, I guess you have to wait on the outskirts of the resort at a shuttle stop. One night on the way to the nicest restaurant on site, my wife and I got caught in a downpour. No shuttle would stop for us to take us the rest of the way, even when I waved them down. One finally stopped and took us about 20 yards where we had to run through the rain down stairs to the restaurant. Not ok. Otherwise, the resort is in good shape with plenty of activities.
Food:
You have to book the themed restaurants with a concierge when you arrive. You can only book them before 3pm and they fill up quick. If they could allow you to book them online before you arrive it would make more sense. The French restaurant was the best food we had the entire trip. Most of the servers and staff were great and extremely nice throughout the trip.
Other things:
We saw hatching sea turtles, monkeys, and other wildlife all on site, that was awesome. Overall we had a great time and felt we got what we paid for. It was a fun trip!
