The one thing I ate at the hotel - a strudel - destroyed me. a) it had no apples in b) it was filled with cream that probably was not fresh - the diarrhoea that resulted was not pleasant. Everyone from the receptionist (stressed) and the receptionist (more stressed) said they would talk to chef but no compensation was offered. Parking is only for less than 20 cars, and is on a first come first served basis, otherwise one has to park behind the hotel in a public underground car park for €15 per night. Dubious characters lurked on those back streets so it was not a secure feeling one had. The city itself is quite odd. If you arrive at a restaurant at 20.50 they will ignore you and keep you in the queue before informing you at 21.01 that the kitchen is closed. We did manage to get a decent meal in an Italian restaurant there, but that was on the second night at 6pm. The hotel restaurant also closed early and though there were empty seats we were turned away because we had not reserved. On returning, we were squeezed in as there had been a 'cancellation'. Half the tables were empty. However,Neuschwanstein Castle is a (19th-century Romanesque) is near, but be prepared to pay OTT for parking, transfer and entry. it looks better from afar than close-up; worth queueing for the panorama bridge viewpoint. Fuessen is lovely when viewed with the mountains as a backdrop otherwise quite disappointing. Day trip to Andechs was the real highlight.
This is a lovely hotel right across from the old city. They also have a parking lot. I was here in March 2020 and the main attractions of the city were closed so that could be why I had no issues with parking. Highly recommend.
Family owned, operated and family touch. Great view of mountains.
Wonderful location, clean, safe, cozy, and awesome environment!
Overall loved the room, staff, breakfast and proximity to sites
This hotel was clean the staff was helpful and friendly it was a good place to stay. I would definitely stay there again if I’m back in Füssen
Very nice room - we stayed as a party of three and got a nice room with a separate room for my daughter. Very big, clean and comfortable
Very nice personnel hotel with great staff and food
walking distance to local attractions. nice breakfast
The property was nice. Super cute room, complimentary water, comfortable beds. The problem was the waitstaff in the bierstubl. Went in to try and have a drink and was told very rudely, “no, it’s not possible!! We are full”. There was an entire table empty and they said it was for reservations. It was the way they treated us that upsets me. They could’ve said nicely that they were full not be rude, abrupt and nasty. Then we ordered drinks to take to the room and asked the charges be out in the room and he said “don’t you have any cash”? So, sadly, I will not return to this hotel. For $220euro per night I will go elsewhere where I am treated better. Oh, and I did tell the night desk lady and the morning desk lady about the rudeness and both said they were sorry it happened but didn’t do anything to make it better.
