This hotel was exactly what me and my friend wanted. The price was amazing for Amsterdam and we had a balcony room looking over the canal it was gorgeous. Extremely friendly diverse reception and concierge. Great and clean but typically small space, though the balcony with chairs snd table was a major plus and able to smoke on it. Huge windows with pleasant local view. Very centrally located but didn’t feel inundated by tourists, great neighborhood of locals close by. I stayed for 3 nights and by far the best hotel I have stayed in in Amsterdam, comfortable bed (better then the 4 star I stayed in the year before) the staff are extremely friendly and can help with booking bits and bobs that you want to do in Amsterdam. Smoker friendly (on the balcony only) which is much different from most of the hotels around the city. The room was a little dated with issues in the bathroom but the staff helped with any issues we had. The hotel is in a prime location close to the city as its only a 10-20 minute walk to Central Station. Highly recommended this hotel if you are a couple or travelling on your own, next time I'm back in Amsterdam I would stay here again.

Really pleasant staff waiting when we arrived, answered our questions and made us feel really welcome. The balcony area was lovely to sit and enjoy the views, was nice to wait here before we checked in. The room was clean and were left a good amount of towels, bedding was clean too. The room was abit run down, some areas of paint missing but this didn’t bother us! We would definitely stay again!

The main thing to note is the two flights of steep stairs to get to reception, it was a bit of a challenge for someone who is not good with heights and who had heavy bags but this was made known before booking so I knew what to expect. No aircon in the rooms which meant having the windows open which unfortunately meant the bugs got in and so I was bitten quite badly. The room was clean with plenty of towels and toilet paper. Basic but just what I needed for my 3 day trip. Nice communal area with a balcony.
