A delightful hotel AND staff
We had a wonderful stay at the Ambassade Hotel in Amsterdam. We stayed in room 64 which was a spacious room over looking the canal. The room was on the second floor which is accessed by a very narrow and steep spiral staircase. We were helped with our luggage so this wasn’t a problem but if you have a hard time with stairs than this room may not be the best option. The middle windows completely open up to allow fresh air in. We arranged the chairs and enjoyed the scenery and listened to music. We took advantage of booking a private 2 hour art and history tour of the city with Eduard which was absolutely delightful. One morning we had breakfast at the hotel which offered continental style items as well as hot items which could be ordered ala carte. We also had 7pm reservations for dinner at the brasserie but we were regretfully disappointed because they informed us that the daily special was no longer available, which was odd because we were one of the first tables to be seated that evening. We chose the Hake as a substitute but after 90 mins we still weren’t served. In the meantime we did have the Terrine starter which was amazing as well as the Basil Smash as an apertif. Unfortunately though we never did get our main entree and left hungry two hours later.
