    Several small annoyances

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. There were just enough individual annoyances that really ruined this stay for us. 1) Our room, 505, smelled like mildew 2) There is a swinging glass door for the bathroom. No ability to close a door. There was not a hook in the bathroom for towels and no where in the shower anyplace for soap/shampoo. 3) There was a planned fire drill at 8:30 am which was not communicated. 4) Although there was a separate bedroom, all lights in the room had to be shut off at the same time. 5) Can only have 1 key per room which has to be given back to desk before leaving for the day. This would require someone to get out of bed if home before the others. 6) If the one person on the desk has to leave for a few minutes, the doors in the hotel are locked and people are unable to leave or get into the hotel. The location was great though!

    Stay elsewhere

Where to begin. Normally I do not even take the time to leave reviews but this time I felt I needed to. First, there were protests all surrounding the hotel that have been going on for quite some time. While this is really not that big of a deal it would have been nice to at least been notified by the hotel that these were taking place so that we were aware. We were unable to have our taxi drop us off so had to walk over 5 blocks dragging all of our luggage. Additionally, while the protests were peaceful, and as someone who travels often and has encountered this type of thing understood this, had I been someone encountering this type of thing for the first time it could have been a very unsettling situation. The hotel should definitely notify guests of the situation Now, lets talk about the check in and stay. When we checked in, after our unexpected walk pulling luggage through the city, we arrived to our room which was NOT what we had reserved. It was a tiny, tiny, tiny, double with one bed. I had booked a large double, with two beds, and even pre paid to gaurantee this. The solution was to move us to a triple, then have us repack and move again in the morning. When we moved to the room for the first night there was already someones luggage there. The hotel just moved it out to another room but this left us unsettled wondering if someone now had a key to this room they thought was theirs and would be coming in. With only 50 characters left all I can say is look elsewhere.

    Great location but...,

The room and hotel was comfortable. The location is it’s strong point. The issue we had was that there is only one person on duty during the day and evening. We returned to the hotel one evening at 10:30 pm, to be joined by other guests, and we were unable to get into the hotel. The front door was locked. The attendant was no where to be found. There was a button to push on the outside but it did nothing. A guest of the hotel that appeared in the lobby found a way to open the door. The following morning we brought this to the attention of the day attendant. She became indignant saying she had told us when we checked in that there was only one evening attendant and if he was called away from the front desk that we would have to be patient until he returned. She never did mention this. Let it be said that we and the other guests were waiting twenty minutes before we were able to gain entry. This also seemed to be a situation if there was an emergency how would we get out?
