Roach Motel with horrible service
Checked into my room in the dark with handheld bag and garment bag. I placed the handheld bag in the chair and the garment bag on the bed. I turned around to head back towards the door and found the light switch. When I looked down, I saw two roaches on the floor. There was a serving tray on the table from a prior guest. I picked up the tray and dropped it down on one then I picked it up and dropped it down on the other one. I informed the attendant of my experience. They stated they were sorry and would get me another room. They informed me there were only two rooms available a double room or the only queen room which was down one floor directly under the room I just left. I wanted a queen as that's what I had paid over $300 a night for. I accepted the room if they would send a pest control specialist to treat the room I left in and the room I was moving too. The stated they would call someone and reach out to the manager to contact me. When I went back downstairs within 5 minutes there was someone checking in. I have no idea what room they received since the roaches were still on the floor Paid over $300 a night b/c the reviews were high, served a free breakfast and a free bottle of wine. The breakfast was a standard continental, but the wine was not full sized. Charged a resort fee without being able to tell me what it was for. Next morn I was told no specialist would be coming. Never heard from manager. Resort items like fitness center should be included in price

6/10 Good

There was an altercation in the hallway outside the door in the early morning -- a woman screaming "Get off me, get off me." And a man shouting back. I called the main desk repeatedly, but got no reply. The "breakfast" included with the room was awful. Cheap crappy tea, semi-stale bagels, packaged pastries from Hostess (or something similar). Yuck!

Not up to its star OR guest ratings!
I stay at a lot of hotels. When I book a 3.5-4 star hotel, I’m expecting it to be modern, fresh, upscale, and comfortable. At above $300/night it is important for a hotel to live up to that standard. My fellow NYC travelers, this hotel should be classified as a 3-star. It should fall in the low-to-mid $200’s price range. My issues were numerous, from a shocking lack of water pressure, to fire panels loudly beeping all night through the corridor and in my room, to poor fit and finish, to active construction out my window and loud street noise. The hotel has a good and convenient location-easy to get to lots of NYC destinations, decent (but simple) breakfast, free bikes, and comfortable beds. Staff was kind and accommodating. I wouldn’t stay here again, however, and my wife agrees strongly.
