Unpleasant Experience
We had a very unpleasant experience at this hotel. The booking was made online with card details stored. When we arrived we were asked to pay. We tried 4 different cards and each was declined. The Receptionist was very rude and unhelpful, making us feel like criminals. She said she had been taking card payments all day, so there was certainly nothing wrong with the card machine. She said if we wanted to stay we had to pay in cash and told us there was an ATM at the train station. We went there, it was broken. We walked around the city and eventually found an ATM, but had to pay a transaction fee. We walked 20 minutes back to the hotel and paid in cash. While we were doing so, we noticed that the person checking in next to us was having the same problem. The problem was with the card reader! The Receptionist offered no apology for making us go to an ATM. She was not wearing a name badge and when we asked for her name, she ignored us and went to get a manager. The manager told us her name was Ms Dulas and apologised for her unsatisfactory behaviour. There was no reason to treat us like this and we spent the rest of our stay trying to avoid her. It is a shame that the hotel cannot take the payment directly from the online booking when such difficulties arise
