Loved the Ruby Marie
I loved the Ruby Marie and will stay there again next time I’m in the Madison area. There was heavy road construction outside the hotel but directions were sent ahead of my stay so it was a nonissue. Super charming place.

The rooms are unique and the property is historic. The bed was extremely comfortable. I don't think I ran into another guest the entire time I was there because the rooms are set up to give you privacy. I ended up with a room facing the lake with a beautiful view out three large windows. There was plenty of street noise overnight though, but they provided earplugs which were necessary.

Beautiful room, clean, close to downtown. Bar downstairs was fun, live music. The Essen House next door was awesome German food and beer. Just don't expect to find much for late night food. No menu for delivery and bar closed before 12 and only had frozen pizza. Breakfast was ok
