Sitting at the beach smelling cigarette SMOKE!
The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and yes there is seaweed though the staff do a great job at cleaning up the seaweed as best as they can, also if you are wanting to see the crystal greenish/blue water you have to stand back and look from afar due to the seaweed. Negative: If you are not a smoker DO NOT go to this resort. This resort caters to smoking. You are permitted to smoke while you are sitting on the beach anywhere and yes of course they leave their butts in the sand. Also smokers are allowed to smoke during dinner. Yes it is outside but when you are seated near the smoker, yep that's all you smell is the smoke. The smokers are destroying the beach by leaving their butts in the sand, using the beach as an ashtray. DO NOT pay for privilege upgrade, what a waste of money unless you like to sit on comfortable bed in the hot hot sun with hardly any shade and then the bar is blasting their music. Also you are unable to move away from the cigarette smoke. Paying for privilege you are to get a pillow menu, well there is not pillow menu and actually the pillows are horrible to sleep on. For two nights we did not have any wash clothes, the facility ran out of wash cloths though the regular rooms got their wash cloths but not being in a privileged room. For two days we reported that water was dripping from the light above the bathroom mirror, when I reported staff seemed extremely concerned though took 48 hours for anything to be done. This vacation was disappointing!

what i did not like was the very aggressive way management was trying to force us into buying into the travelers club option of the resort. Our breakfast was interrupted by the rude intrusion on our early morning outing by forcing himself to our table as we ate . and the continued badgering of trying to sell us a travellers share of the property. We felt like hostages as one after the other tried to coerce into a contract which was very misleading to begin with. It was very disgusting to us as we came to have a very relaxing time at the resort and felt very uncomfortable. We managed to enjoy the rest of the vacation. We never got the promised tour of the property , but got a tour of what the resort was peddling. not good at all, since we had to probe our way through the resort to find certain activitie s that we wanted to partake in. yours truly Timothy Bynum

The property was nice.Clean, well kept. Staff was friendly enough. When we arrived, check in was the worst we have ever experienced. We were not given the room we paid for due to being over booked. Asked why a vacation that was booked 4 months in advance could not be accommodated. They told us it was the best they could do and compensate us with a $200 voucher for their on site over priced store for each room that we had booked. We were forced into agreeing with this arrangement as there was nothing else we could do. We were given rooms 3823 and 3824. As soon as we arrived at our rooms my wife and I had difficulty opening the door. We called the front desk and were told some one would be there to correct the issue. My friends in 3824 on day one complained to the front desk about their balcony furniture. The wicker was all frayed and was scratching their legs when they sat on it. For 3 days my friend and I complained to the front desk about these issues. Being told every time someone was coming to make repairs. It was not until the 4th day when my friend and I returned from golf. While I was trying to enter my room I tore the door handle completely off the door. This is when we finally got a manager involved. She came to our room and investigated both complaints, door handle and wicker furniture. Natalia was very professional and was nice to deal with. She dealt with the issues. She got us into the rooms we were supposed to be in from the beginning. A total inconvenience forus

The food was amazing. The restaurant booking website was a bit hard to use at first. It's great that the Royal Bavaro guess could access the family site. Most of the food were made with excellence. The only disappointment is the Asian Cuisine as it wasn't closed to the authentic taste. Facility was great, scene was nice. Very relaxing place. However, the beach towel constantly ran out past noon time. On first night of arrival, some of the sanitary items (cotton bags, combs and sewing set) were used packages, a.k.a. the sealed packages were open. It was a bit disgusting.
