We had 2 rooms booked. Both rooms cost the same amount. One, on level 4 of the hillside complex, was acceptable but the room on level 7 was appalling - dilapidated, broken drawer falling out of a cupboard, loose power points, disgusting toilet and barely functioning plumbing. Feral cats waited outside the room to run into the room whenever the door opened. Access to the room was by walking up an incredibly steep road. The manager of the front desk dismissed our concerns and said we should have complained earlier. We had asked the receptionist to move us when we arrived but she said there was no room available. Overall, the description of the hotel in the Expedia website is grossly misleading.

Happy that I chose Penelope Village!
Very nice hotel, clean and very friendly stuff. We are happy that we chose penelope village. The only thing I didnt like was the fact that during breakfast there were cats moving around the tables. Other than that excellent hotel, very clean and friendly. I strongly recommended.
