Clean and Cozy...
Very typical motel setting. Great value considering what others are asking. The rooms were clean and recently remodeled. The shower was gross. It's missing a full length mirror and the only charging plug is in a wall outlet that doesn't work. Bring a 110 adapter. A note next to the bed says be sure not to move the bed any closer to the wall heater or you could end up as a burnt marshmallow. I would never be in that bed, as my head would be 2 feet from the heater. Can't imagine this being comfortable to sleep next to. They have a stand alone heat pump in the room, which is a little noisy and a bit odd, but again...it gets the job done. The mini fridge was a nice touch. I spent a little time relaxing by the river, which was awesome! They provide chairs and fire wood if you want to make a fire, which was also very nice. I was visiting friends, and really only needed a room to sleep in, so if you're looking for no frills and decent accommodations, I highly recommend it. I'd stay again.

The Sierra Inn is a gem in the wilderness. Out by itself nestled by the river. I had the best room in the place at the far end overlooking the river. The Two Feathers Cafe is next door and has great coffee, bagels and croissants. They are still remodeling. My room was very spacious and new. Park right in front. I hope to return someday. A great place to stay.

Hidden renovated gem not far form South Lake Tahoe
Wow! I was looking for an inexpensive alternative to the crazy rates to stay in a hotel in Lake Tahoe at the peak of the summer and found this hidden gem. I thought it was going to your typical old road side motel, but I was very happily surprised not to only find a fully renovated and modern room and bathroom, but the motel seats literally next to the river and we were able to enjoy our evenings seating next to it and enjoying the view. I just hope they will invest a little more in the landscaping close to the river but I highly recommend this motel! It is only 25 minutes away from South Lake Tahoe at an awesome price!
