We stayed here for 5 nights which included some nights before a tour. The location is great for sightseeing in Bogota - in the middle of the old La Candeleria neighborhood. The hotel is older and was a large hacienda with inside patios that function currently as a restaurant and a patio. It has been Quite updated and a new wing added. The staff goes overboard to help In general and with city touring information. The only negative comment I have was that the jacuzzi which is attached to the pool the pool is the same tepid temperature as the pool.
No window to outside so room stuffy. Need ventilation.
This hotel is in a great location with lovely views towards the main square, particularly from our 7th floor rooms. However, the lift was not functional for the better part of a day during our stay, which made it tricky as I was travelling with my older mother. The staff handled it well though, giving us a ground floor room to rest in during the day for as long as the lift was non functional. There was a good range of food for breakfast.
The best place in town! Just book it and be pleased.
Great location and very good service. Rooms are very comfortable and stylish.
It really is a lovely building and well situated. Extremely disappointing was paying 750.000 to wotif for a king room that the hotel was selling for about 500.000. This is a rip-off to the tune of 50%.
the hotel was a dead zone. listless staff, dirty walls, old food such as rotten tomatoes in the buffet breakfast, lights in the room going on and off endlessly for no reason, only corrected by turning off room's electricity, fan in bathroom useless, staff at pool allowing raucous talking by a group meaning no one else could go there and relax, dirty water in bathroom faucets,
Wonderful hotel! Great location, clean, friendly staff and a nice breakfast. They can arrange for taxis if needed as well. Would definitely recommend and stay here again next time I’m in Bogota!
Hotel de la Opera was a really great place to stay. I had a pretty view of the city, and the room was immaculate. The staff was super accommodating and helpful to get cabs, etc. It was in a nice location in the city as well. I would highly recommend.
All good, except the hotel charges a fee for bottled water, which is customilarily provided gratis in similar locations in South America.
