A nice hotel with beautiful surroundings. The bathroom could have been cleaner. The restaurant menu is rather limited, the service was slow, but the food was good. Also, the front desk could be better managed and trained. The night before my departure I asked to have a taxi booked for the next morning. Fortunately I checked on it first thing the next morning because it had not been booked. I also received a bill at checkout showing that my account was paid up only the have the hotel accuse me later of leaving without checking out at all this implying that I was attempting to avoid paying the bill. Apparently they had applied someone else’s payment to my account. In any case, the confusion was cleared up, and I paid the bill despite their poor customer service effort.
Hotel is in a lovely location on the outskirts of the town. Staff were friendly however sent me to the wrong room initially. Rooms I would say are very bland with little personality, no extras, toiletries, more akin to a budget hotel. No pictures, no room service, no water bottles, no minibar. I was only there for one night so was out for dinner. Bed was just ok, I’ve never been a fan of the square pillows which I know is a Dutch European thing. Breakfast was ok they had some gluten free bread but nothing much else and nothing else marked up with gluten or other allergens. I would Say functional and unremarkable hotel.
It's a very special location for relaxing even if on business as you are surrounded by beautiful nature walks and river views, like in a forest (the botanical garden is next door!).
Such a peaceful and nature-al location amidst the arboretum and the rivers and hills and valleys and forests...
I loved the remote location. Super peaceful. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Wonderful views from the window. Didn't like that a twin room could not be provided although I requested it. One was only available for an extra 10Euros. This is something that Expedia needs to ensure is passed to the hotel as the request was added to their website.
Excellent quality hotel for the money, lovely views. Restaurant very good quality, I was entertaining clients and we were not disappointed.
Excellent location and views over the river. Friendly staff and good facilities such as the Wellness center which available to guests for a very reasonable fee. Has for the service, and quality/cleanliness of the rooms... hard to understand why the 4* rating.
We enjoyed a relaxing stay in this hotel. The setting in the woods and overlooking the Rhine was very good with a lovely walk right out of the door. It's just a 5 minute drive into the town centre or a bus route is right outside. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast had everything we could possible want and the communal areas were beautifully decorated for Christmas. We would have loved the jacuzzi and steam room to have been included in the cost.
Doesn't correspond at all to 4 stars, rather corresponds clearly to max. 3 stars...!
