Xmas Break
We were offered an upgrade to a superior rooms which we accepted. On arrival our room was a let down to say the least, the room and terrace were covered in dust. The furnishings were all in poor condition, the bed was fine, bathroom good apart from the bottom of the door was rotting away. We went next door to our daughters room which again was not cleaned the furnishings were better, it looked to be in the process of being updated. After a not very pleasant discussion with reception the upgrade fees were refunded. The serving staff on the whole did there best but lacked direction, one evening we had three different people trying to open a bottle of wine. Breakfast was good with plenty of Choice, We had the open buffet in the evening three times, good apart from the last evening, the selection of dishes seemed to have dropped, not good. I feel management do not do enough to mentor the staff, rooms and public areas were not very clean, toilets very seldom had hand towels available. The last point i would make is, the heating in the rooms could not be turned off, guests were asking for fans, the terrace door could be opened, the downside was we had a few days of gale force winds. We were never approached by any of the management team to asked if we were enjoying our stay, we were there for ten nights. This hotel is not to Radisson standard.

We stayed at the Radisson blue for two nights. Very nice hotel. We had a sea view room. We ate at the breakfast buffet which was fabulous. Beds were comfortable. Nice size room.

ACCUSED US OF LYING TO COVER THERE BACK
Our stay at Radisson Blu was okay we where there for a week. It was a shame there we’re works going on and half the hotel was closed! Be aware, you will be awoken by maintenance works if you like to sleep in. What upset us the most was the night before we were going to leave my wife turned on the lamp and it sparked quiet aggressively and shocked her hand. I tried calling reception a few times no one picked up so I ran down to the lobby to tell them what happened. They then tried dismissing this by telling me someone would be up right away to take a look. The maintenance guy came to our room tried turning on the lamp and it sparked again lightly and picked up the lamp and showed us the fault with it. He then quickly went to replace it. At this point my wife’s hand was still hurting and a little numb so I called the reception to speak to the manager. He was apologetic and said that a compensation would be offered and he will personally come down to the lobby in the morning and speak to us. In the morning I went to check out in the lobby and asked to speak to the manager (at this point although my wife’s hand was still hurting I was ready to dismiss the whole thing as the manager had been so understanding the night before). However, I was confronted with a reception worker who said he knew of the situation and they (the hotel) checked the lamp and it was fine. He indirectly, a few times accused us of lying. I then asked for all the names of everyone involved including his

An enjoyable experience.
I enjoyed my experience there. Staff, including management, without exception, were all very friendly, professional, helpful, eager to please. Indoor pool is very small. Sauna is small. Massages were good. Shops, pubs, restaurants are a 15 minute walk up a hill and down a hill at Paceville except for restaurants at Corinthia - a sister hotel which is a little nearer. Small shop a 10 minute walk which I found after 4 days. Nearest ATM is in Paceville - there is an extra charge eg. E3.95 if one withdraws E200.00. Bus stop is near hotel. It takes almost an hour to get to Valetta by bus. No trouble getting taxis at hotel. Fixed prices - E 23.00 to Airport, E 30.00 to Milleha Bay which has the best beach in my view. Golden Sands also good. Check wind direction before choosing beach! Outdoor hotel pools excellent - landscaped and presented very well. No convenience store in hotel to sell newspapers etc. A positive experience overall.

My 2 cents staying at the Radisson Blu in Malta
Hotel and staff are great. My complaints are: 1. They were doing renovations 20 meters from my room 2 days in a row. Horrible noise 2. The e-card that unlocks the door malfunctioned 3 times during my stay and I had to go to the reception to reset it 3. I booked 5 nights and then booked a separate 6th night. When I checked in, the girl at the reception asked me to sign both reservations at once so I won't need to checkout after 5 nights and then check in again. However, after 5 nights the e-card stopped working and when I went down to reception, I was told that I need to check in again. Only after I insisted that they double check in original check in, they did and found out I was right and was needlessly required to check in again. Quite uncomfortable. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay there immensely.
