Great location, but very typical resort feel. The volcano views were great but the one from our window was not exceptional. Hotel sevice was wonderful though - everyone was very kind and helpful!

While the management was amazing and offered to allow us to change our non-changeable reservation due to a visa issue (which we fortunately did not have to accept). We were left quite disappointed. The staff are great for the most part but there are some real issues at the property for the price. PLEASE NOTE: This property does not upgrade Expedia Gold VIP members. I was sure to ask if they had better rooms available when they did not give the upgrade, and they had several, but did not honour. Pros: Amazing property, location, and view. Cons: -The rooms are far from a 4-star property and instead are more like a 2-star. -The bathrooms smell like sewer pipes -There are no toiletries besides medical grade soap -The internet was quite bad -Refused to let us use a microwave unless we had bought the food from them -Old rooms and dated furniture -Noise from the neighbours rooms, if I am paying $200/night, i do NOT want to hear the neighbour flush their toilet all night long and hear their entire conversation -Same food every day in breakfast, nothing changes -Quite small main pool and I have some serious doubts that this is a natural hot spring and not just turbo-heated water touted as a hot spring. Overall, value for money is absolutely not recommended.

For what we paid it was terrible. Without considering price it was ok. I would not recommend regardless of price. Pros: location, we had a hot thermal tub in our patio which was private, breakfast was convenient, great landscaping, various animals hanging out around the property, good pool area Cons: price, staff is not friendly/not), food/drink prices very high for this caliber hotel

Family Vacation
My family and I had a great stay at Volcano Lodge. Location was perfect. We ate breakfast daily at the hotel, which was great. Very nice selection. Had lunch one day and the service was really slow and we were only one of 2 tables. Food was good tho! The staff were all very nice and helpful.

Beautiful grounds, exceptionally clean. Friendly and courteous staff. The restaurant was delicious. Very nice breakfast buffet with lots of choices. The pools and hot springs are very pretty and fun to try them all. I loved my stay here.
