Location! Location! Location! A skip and a hop from the beautiful Ha Long Bay. We took a memorable walk along the bay and then went in the opposite direction to enjoy yummy local food. To top it off, the service and cleanliness of the rooms were amazing as well as how quiet it was! Definitely the place I’d stay again at Ha Long Bay.

If you are looking to find a hotel from the tourist infested part of Halong Bay, this hotel is for you. It is located in Hon Gai with baste views of Karst Mountains. It is beside a walking park and is nearby the local bars and restaurants. Now, Tru doesn’t have a lot of the bells and whistles of some hotels, but for a quiet neighborhood without a lot of tourists and Hon Gai beach is a 15 minute Grab ride away. Their museum is a 15 minute walk away that was interesting and informative. Many might confuse Halong with the lit up buildings and the cable cars going up and down Sunworld, you’re sorely wrong. That is where the tour groups are coming in and out of with westerners and their kids in tow gawking at their social media. If you want the boat rides to Cat Ba and the rest of the islands, the two marinas are only 15 and 30 minute away. But be prepared if you are a traveler for crowds of tourists getting off cruise liners.

Great location with an amazing view of Halong Bay and proximity to sights and shops. We were kindly upgraded to King rooms as we arrived a bit early for check in and those were the only rooms available. Folks who worked there are friendly and helpful and we recommend this hotel for those looking to visit Halong area!
