Inappropriate Behavior by Hotel Desk Manager
The hotel's desk manager attempted to charge the $150 deposit to my locked credit card BEFORE I even got to the property. After getting a decline due to the lock, she cancelled my reservation without emailing, calling, or messaging in any way. I arrived at the property after driving seven hours to no room reserved! It was very INAPPROPRIATE on the part of the manager. The only good part of this stay was the bed... Comfortable! The shade in the room is NOT a blackout shade. The bathroom and Frankenstein shower had limited hot water. The refrigerator didn't adequately chill. The toilet always flushed twice. Kids running up and down the hallway after 10pm - even with the hotel's "ZERO tolerance policy" regarding late night noise. The wallpaper is peeling away from the wall. There's inadequate lighting and ventilation in the bathroom.

Won’t stay again.
Pieces on door to room were broken making it hard to latch closed and lock, no vent in the bathroom, not enough lighting in bathroom, dresser was messed up, floor and ceiling were stained as well as the chair and it appeared to be blood because the cushion was different on the chair meaning it was replaced. It’s been renovated but not how it could have been and not cared for since.

Comfortable place to sleep
The stay was amazing, the room was very comfortable and clean. My only complaint would be other guests at the hotel being loud and stomping on the floor above my room. It happened all night long and the other guests seemed to have no respect for other guests below or beside their room. Would definitely stay here again, as long as my room was not near loud/ rude guests!

Wont stay again
Hotels.com did not disclose that this hotel charges a $150 deposit once you check in. Kids running up and down the hall all night long. Screaming and slamming doors all night. You can hear every footstep the people above you make if youre not on the top floor. Hot tub was not working. Heater in room made loud clicking noise all night. Beds and pillows are not comfortable. Took our kids to the pool to swim and there was a couple in the pool being very "friendly" with eachother that we had to leave. Disappointed because the location of this hotel is great, but wont stay here again.

Nothing worked
No hot tub- no hot water in the bath tub- exhaust fan didn't work-on site computers didn't work-breakfast was super bland-sidnt have my reservation- many kids in such a tiny pool. Bed was nice and so was the staff

Water issues.
When I went into the room, I thought someone was in the shower, because the tub was running non-stop. The desk clerk moved me to another room and it was doing the same thing. It ran the whole time I was there. So it wasn't the greatest stay, but no other complaints. The staff were very nice and tried to be as accommodating as they could, given the circumstances.

Don't Stay Here!
I don't know how this hotel has such high ratings. We were there for four days and they didn't vacuum the common areas once the entire time. The pool was so full of scum if you ran your finger along the edge, it left a "clean" line behind. We only swam twice because we couldn't stomach another dip. We requested housekeeping twice during our visit for fresh towels, trash removal, toilet paper refreshment, and bed making. They did it once and didn't even bother to show up the second time. Our trash cans were overflowing. The hallway trash cans were overflowing. Another guest I was talking to had to request they empty the hallway trash because it was starting to smell. I feel like that should be on the housekeeping daily checklist. There were soft spots in the floor (we were on the third floor) and when you walked over them it felt like you were going to fall through. Beds squeaked and were uncomfortable. Breakfast/coffee was inedible. The hotel was so dirty on our last day with all the holiday and New Year traffic it made you wonder how dirty everything really was. However, the staff were all very nice. I know hotels are short-staffed but if you can't accommodate that many people, don't take that many reservations. There are SO many other hotels in Parkersburg and all similarly priced. We'll find another one for our annual visits.
