Beware of booking - you will never want to leave!
Where do I begin? My friend and I visited Bergwelt Grindelwald and hadn't even gotten our key yet before the "check-in crasher", Tanja Munker (GM), gave us the warmest welcome I had ever received upon checking in at a hotel. She gave us a rundown of the property, made recommendations, and asked about how our travels had been up to that point. We ran into Tanja multiple times during the few days we had there and made a point to chat with her, since she had quicky become our new Grindelwald friend. Tanja wasn't the only superstar at the hotel; the entire staff was so kind and helpful! This hotel is super swank and they have the mountain modern/alpine design down. The room was very spacious, bed was crazy comfy, and the balcony overlooked the beautiful mountainous backdrop. Breakfast was super delicious - a huge spread and omelet station with a wide selection of beverages as well. I already cannot wait to go back to Grindelwald and will be staying way longer next time!

Really nice, small issues
The hotel is really nice, and I would stay again. Definitely seems the nicest in the area. The breakfast was excellent and the spa was really spacious and amazing. A few annoying things: - they forgot to clean our room - room service comes with a 10 CHF charge (or you can go to the kitchen and collect it yourself?!) - shuttle pick up from station didn’t arrive - reception told us that the lift for skiing was closed, later we found out it was open and ample skiing available

Overall the stays were ok. The hotel is pretty new and the breakfast is good. Just to note the spa is unisex and you may bump into some naked guests. The shower area for family room is see through and the sofa bed is springy.

The hotel is very nice and new. Rooms are dark but chic and comfortable. Spa is nice and massage was excellent. The lobby bar was understaffed- it took a while to get a drink and pay- and BG’s restaurant was not good and very overpriced. I ordered my CHF 74 steak medium rare and it arrived medium well. I sent it back and nearly 20 minutes later- after my companion had finished her meal- my new steak arrived. This too was well overcooked. I tried to alert the manager who advised a server he was too busy to speak to me. I demanded to speak to him and he finally came over and offered to take the steak off the bill. The meat wasn’t tasty though and my friend- whose steak arrived according to her order- didn’t like hers either. The meat simply wasn’t good. The Pinte restaurant is a much better option- friendly, less expensive and tastier.
