About this home

Casa del Rio is an ideal venue for any celebration or gathering. An intimate wedding , special anniversary , a large family holiday, your own personal yoga retreat …Whatever the reason for it, your stay will be tailor-made to meet your exact requirements.
We think this is a pretty unique place to stay ! Situated in a very small white village , from the street side, Casa del Rio is an imposing white and blue detached house , but imposing as it appears the facade gives away none of the secrets that lie within !

Step through the ancient double wood doors into a stylish yet relaxed home , a place you and your guests will come to love for sure ! The communal rooms on the entrance level include a fabulous fully fitted bar area, complete with drinks fridges, sound system & chess table . A professional fully fitted kitchen, large open plan living room and dining room with open fireplace - lovely for those early spring and late autumn & winter evenings !

A separate TV / library room is a firm favourite with our younger guests - we have TV channels for many languages and netflix,

But step through the living areas onto the huge covered terrace and see our best kept secret.. the incredibly picturesque Guardiario river that runs right past our garden. Teaming with wildlife, our resident heron lives in the tree right opposite the terrace , fish in the river , even canoe !

There is a large walled courtyard complete with swimming pool , sunbeds and seating areas .

Our lower terraces have plenty of little cosy seating areas , sunbeds and a large BBQ complete with work preparation areas and sink and large dining terrace. Downstair toilets are a convenient facility .

Another totally unique feature are our ancient water channels which run through the entire lower gardens. Built over 100 years ago, these channels are irrigation channels that still service all the gardens in the village today . Our “ Bridge bedrooms “ are so named as you have to talk over a little wooden bridge to enter the rooms !

In total there are 8 spacious bedrooms at Casa del Rio . Five on the top floor, and three Bridge rooms on the ground floor. All rooms have private en suite bathroom . All rooms have either overhead ceiling fans or standing fans. Because of our proximity to the river, and in a protected valley, we enjoy a temperate micro climate . even in high summer, the evenings are a comfortable average 25º at night.

Casa del Rio can be rented on a self catering basis or with a number of catered options. Our house manager , who lives nearby is always on hand to assist guests during their stay .
