Close to the Detroit Institute of Arts.
Visited Detroit to see a Van Gogh exhibition at the DIA. The Inn on Ferry Street is only a block away. The Inn was absolutely beautiful. If I ever go back to Detroit, I will stay there again.

Wonderful Victorian hotel
This is a lovely old Victorian hotel with a wonderful and helpful staff. It is in a delightful part of Detroit that has been completely updated and made very pedestrian friendly. The Detroit Fine Arts museum is 1 block away, the Q line is free and Chartreuse Restaurant is literally around the corner.

Edwardian elegance in a cozy hotel
The location is great if you're visiting the museums or Wayne State since both are in walking distance but the inn is the star. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite with a shared bathroom that was lovely to look at and extremely comfortable. Check-in and out was very quick. The inn also has several sitting rooms and a comfortable library to read or talk. FYI: no in-room refrigerator or ice machines so bring a cooler if that matters to you. (There is cold bottled water in the lobby.) The one disappointment was the breakfast: almost entirely prepackaged pastry, bread and bagels, with juice, milk and coffee. I recommend that instead you walk down the street to Babo for an excellent breakfast in a chic little restaurant.
