Great hotel with issues
Great hotel that needs to iron out some issues. I’ve stayed at the W a number of times already. Love the interiors and room sizes. They are, however experiencing a massive staffing issue. Blood found on clean towels in bedroom (stains had attempted to be removed) and valet was completely understaffed so guests are being kept waiting (at $70 a night for valet). Credit card surcharge being applied to everything including bond and all good even if a debit card is used. Great hotel overall but needs to get this sorted as it dampens the experience.

New Hotel - Still some things to work on
Overall my hotel stay was fine, but... It was let down by unresponsive / variable air con. Room was too hot at night - couldn't cool it down below 21c, but it felt cold in the day when it would dip below 19c, which made for several uncomfortable nights sleep. The lights also seemed to have a mind of their own, sometimes turning off automatically when I was in the room and moving around, and other times only the master off switch would turn everything off. For a hotel that claims eco-friendliness, small disposable shower gel and shampoo bottles seemed quaint. More eco-minded hotels are using refillable / fixed shampoos. The lobby and lift area had a slight sulfer / sewerage smell. The positives - the service was friendly and prompt, room service was good, the Toto japanese toilets in-room were a plus and the location was convenient for my business meetings.

Horrible - do not book
Horrible!!! The service is horrible, breakfast waiting time was over an hour, way too few staff and too small facilities for the number of guests. The breakfast menu has only a few items to chose from (which is generally ok ) but two of the dishes had sold out leaving few options. Coffee orders were mixed up (lucky we don’t have allergy and that the milk is a taste preference only) Room is modern, maybe a bit too modern with graffiti on the walls, very dark inside the room and view looking straight in to an office (we stayed on the 10th floor). Booked a taxi from the hotel for a preset time and it arrived 20m late. The positive - friendly reception staff at checkin and the toilet (with a warm seat) Do not recommend to stay at this hotel - service is more like 1-2star.
