Clean, nice staff but no AC

I was surprised that as big and new the hotel was, there was no air conditioning. Yes, I know Scotland can be cold, but this was September and I need to sleep as cool as possible. The windows opened all of 3 inches, and with the wind blowing they kept slamming shut and open. I found a small fan in the closet, but it was not enough. Also, the half glass wall in the shower is utterly ridiculous. No matter how careful you are, water sprays and pours out...enough that the bottom of the door has the veneer peeling away. But all of the staff we dealt with was beyond friendly and helpful.
