Dirty, loud, and they didn't give us the type of room we'd booked. I have no idea why they'd call this a resort. It's a run down hotel where they do construction in the room next to yours in the morning. We even called to complain and they said they'd fix it but then didn't. It's also not clean. The tub had black stuff in it, the shower head was clogged up with mineral deposits, the floor was dirty, and the ceiling had badly patched water damage. I'm guessing there's mold growing somewhere too because I had a bad sinus headache after sleeping. There's also a restaurant with a live band so get ready to party, whether you want to or not, until the wee hours if you're there on Friday or Saturday. We tried to use the TV to drown out the noise so we could sleep but it wasn't working and they said they couldn't fix it for us.
I also did not like the safety issues. Our room had 3 doors on the first floor. One to an outdoor hallway, one to a sidewalk, and one to the neighboring room. I had requested a higher floor when I booked. And I get it that someone has to stay on the first floor, BUT if you're a woman traveling alone, do not stay here. If I had been alone, I would have left.
The only thing decent was it's close to a public beach strip (FYI the beach is next to a busy road so you will hear traffic the whole time) and the breakfast buffet was ok.
I booked this place because I usually like Holiday Inns and it had good reviews. I can't imagine how it has received good reviews
