We had planned to stay at a Sheraton in Columbus, Ohio that we had stayed in before. When we arrived at our hotel, we discovered we had erred. But with Sheraton’s reputation, we stayed here. Same facilities, same friendly staff, same comfort. Way to go Sheraton.

Frustrating experience
I am SO disappointed in our stay and how things were handled. My family arrived around 6:45pm to check in. My husband and I were traveling with our 2 small children for a family event. When we arrived the employee at the desk informed us that their system was down and they wouldn’t be able to check us in immediately. Other guests were waiting to check in and were obviously frustrated. We had family who had checked in earlier and let them know we would go to our family’s rooms to hang out and check back down. Long story short, we weren’t able to check in to our room until just before 10pm. Our kids were tired. They were disappointed that they weren’t able to use the pool since we didn’t have access. The employee working that night was doing her best. She was by herself (which was crazy with such a large hotel on a Saturday night.) My frustration isn’t with her. My frustration is that nothing was done by management to rectify an extremely difficult night. We were inconvenienced by their technical issues and missed out on over 3 hours of our stay and amenities. When I checked out I politely expressed my frustration and the employee took my information and assured me that management would call me later that day and would offer a discount or free stay in the future, etc. I never heard from management. Paying our full booking price in this situation is poor business and poor customer service- especially when we were patient and polite in a stressful situation.

Nice hotel
In fairness, the hotel is in the middle of a renovation, so some of the property was in disrepair. Only one elevator was operational, which slowed things down quite a bit. The indoor pool was closed for repairs, but the outside pool was fine. The pool area was in need of some TLC, though. The chairs were stained and ripped up. The lobby bar got pretty rowdy on Saturday night and the noise was easily heard all the way to the 8th floor. However, right at midnight when the bar closed everything was nice and quiet. Overall, I'd stay here again without hesitation. I looking forward to seeing everything once the renovation has been completed.

Very Nice Room
I stayed in Room 518, a room overlooking the outdoor pool and expressway. The double-window panes had stains between them that made visibility fair at best. The room was clean and very modern, but there were stains on the vinyl flooring, the shower head leaked, and the safe did not work (batteries dead?). There was a table in front of the window, but no chairs to use it for a desk or meals. Other than the minor issues above, I would definitely stay at Sheraton Suites again. Loved the pools and exercise room, but did not have opportunity to enjoy a meal or adult beverage at the restaurant or bar, respectively.
