10/10 Exceptional

The building and room was really cool. The design was really original. The only problem I encountered was trying to find the entrance lol but I called the front desk and figured it out eventually! Everything was amazing. I wish the bar had been open. I’ll definitely be back when it is! Oh but I did upgrade to a room with a balcony and my room didn’t have one? Not sure how that happened but other than that it was great!

6/10 Good

Will be finding a new go-to
Property was recently sold. The restaurant is no longer open. The train. The train. The train. They are still on a covid cleaning schedule which has me wondering how many towels not getting washed. Sewer gas coming from the women's restroom is the first set upon entering the double doors. As you can imagine this was a little off-putting before I have stayed here numerous times before. On the plus side staff were nice and courteous. Just wasn't very inviting anymore.

Will definitely be back
One of the coolest hotels I have ever stayed in.Community vibe: all different age ranges. I thought it was going to be all gen xers but there were older couples, and young marrieds. Extremely dog friendly: took my dog everywhere in the hotel. Entertainment all day: the bar/resturaunt is at the center of the lobby area. Nightlife, brunch, dinner, everything was served out of there. Extremely safe: I walked my dog at 11pm at the park across the street. It has a short walking trail, soccer field, trees, playground. Up the street were two bars that had outdoor spaces. I saw a party bus leaving one of them. I could go on and on. The Nashville night is probably easily accessible via the party buses or ubers. I was just there for one night on my way up north so didn't get to partake. Love the concrete in the rooms, hallways and lobby. Of course there are area rugs. Furniture is ikea-like and very comfortable. Murphy bed mattress was surprisingly very comfy.Train came by several times but really just added to the vibe so I didn't mind. Parking "deck" is ingenious for small property, just have to see it. I was there in December (cold) but in the summer the rooftop lounge bar would have been hoppin'. Front desk very pleasant and helpful. At 57 they checked my ID for the can of alcohol I purchased. They are on the ball. Only negative, no mircrowave, but it makes sense due to all of the sustainability-concious products available. Oh, and the soaps and hair care products...devine.Must go

Beautiful and modern but noisy
What a place! We loved the modern structure, airy lobby and restaurant. The room was lovely with a washer and dryer, semi -comfortable Murphy bed and such a nice kitchen! The kitchen was perfectly clean with great dishes, oven, stovetop, but no microwave- (thought that was kinda weird). The innovation brought us there, but make sure you are not given a room on the railroad side - the noise on that side is non-stop! Don’t fall for “city view” - I think they tell everyone that every view is a city view. We were impressed with the price and that they are dog friendly, but really, there’s no way to sleep through that kind of noise - constant train noise and when the whistles go off you will be wide awake! Room 509 had cracks around the door to the hallway that let in so much light that we had to block it with some of the sofa cushions. I used the stairs a half a dozen times while I was there (need my steps!) and those fire doors slam so loudly the noise is heard all the way down the hallway. I suppose it’s a fine place to party, and pass out. but if you need to be awake in the morning and do work you should opt for something much more boring. We needed to work so did not extend our stay. Restaurant food was fine. The live plants in the hotel were amazing. We loved the concept, but the location next to the train is what will cause us not to recommend.

Super comfortable. I’ll seek bento in the future.
Wonderful! The room was defined by what it didn’t have: no musty carpet (just a clean, polished floor); no ugly, heavy bedspread (just a spotless white comforter and linens); no bathtub with water backing up (just a spacious tile shower with ample pressure and a working drain). Room kitchens are simple, complete and efficient. Public shared spaces encourage you to sit and relax, work or socialize. I could live in this room for a week more comfortably than at a $500 per night hotel. The more expensive hotels should copy the bento model.
