Very strange hotel: gigantic, Stalin-styled hotel with a dome and pretentious decorations everywhere, but no one is in the hotel. I think we were the only guests. Ate in the dining room alone. Creepy. Probably some money laundering scheme because why would Berat need something like this with another hotel being built alongside. Find another hotel.

A good place for a brief stay
Hotel Colombo is about a 10 min walk from the river and yet it feels a long way from Old Town vibes - so there is a choice to make between the hotel and the location. The breakfast buffet was good quality (coffee welcome if you are of Americano tastes!) but otherwise the hotel looks more than it is. No fridge in my room, safe not locked down etc. Still for one night I slept well and all was OK.
