Beautiful room and nicely decorated. Staff was kind upon arriving. Annex building is a little further than what we expected which we didn’t mind at first. But then when we needed something- no one ever answered the phones. Tried calling the front desk several times with no answer, finally WhatsApp messaged them and got an immediate response. Was very upset because the hotel says they have air conditioning but upon arrival they did not. We specifically booked a hotel with advertised air conditioning because we knew Italy was going to be quite hot while we were there. The heat was unbearable in the room. We were told to just open a new when we addressed the issue with them (as if we didn’t know to do that). Also we paid extra for a balcony only to get there and it is not a private balcony- it is shared. Which we normally wouldn’t care however we can’t exactly leave our balcony open to let cool air in at night because we didn’t know the people staying next door. Concierge was never available.. even contacted Expedia to contact them directly and never got a response. Location is prime, but also could’ve gotten a hotel for th same price around the area. Wish I would’ve listened to other reviews

The hotel overall is not bad it was very small. Be aware that they have two locations and we were required to walk 150 meters with our luggage to another location for our stay. This made it difficult if we ever needed anything from the reception. They do have whatsapp and are responsive but it would take some time to receive items to our hotel. Breakfast that was included was not great. Eggs were cold, the coffee was very milky not a lot of coffee flavour. The bacon was undercooked and some of the fruit provided was not fresh.

When we first got the to the hotel we expected to be staying at Hotel 55 where we booked but were then told we had to walk “3 minutes” from the building to get to the Annex building. This was not a 3 minute walk. We ended up at a completely different building with a different hotel name on it “La maison d’art” which was in an old grungy building with no staff or reception. After going on google to read reviews some of the most recent ones showed that customers belongings were stolen from the room safe so we felt extremely uneasy. Luckily we stayed for only one night so we had to take our belongings with us to dinner with fear that they’d get stolen. The reception staff at the original building were rude and defensive. I offered to pay for an upgrade to the hotel building but they were sold out. I complained to Expedia but they did absolutely nothing to help the situation. This hotel is awful. The room we stayed in was so tiny our luggage barely fit. The mattress didn’t even have a matte cover to separate it from the bed sheet, it was gross. I wouldn’t recommend it at all, don’t let the Expedia reviews fool you, go on google.

I was third in line to check in to the hotel. So, I watched how the staff treated the two guests prior to me. The two people ahead of me had obviously booked directly with the hotel and were treated differently than we were because we booked through Expedia. The immediate difference in treatment was noticed. Also, we received no benefits or breakfast, etc. But the real kicker was that the hotel put us in another hotel about a 5 minute walk away, which they didn’t tell us at check in. But rather at 10 PM when we came back to pick up the keys (our room wasn’t ready at 2 when we arrived). After a long day exploring Rome we were treated with the news that we were actually staying down the road. 5 minutes away…at least. She informed me this was in my booking…Which I never saw. She also informed me I booked two double beds, which I don’t believe because this was our anniversary trip. She also told me she upgraded us to a king. Which again I believe was a lie and what I had booked all along. The next morning we had a long walk back with our luggage in the rain to leave it at the front desk. Later that evening when we went back to pick up our luggage, another couple was having the same discussion with them and saying there is no way that they booked a room five minutes away. That this had happened to a friend of hers who booked through this hotel also. I would NOT stay here again. Worst hotel we stayed in Italy. Lastly, the elevators were not working and had to climb many flights of
