Mushroom Mayhem

The staff at the hotel were amazing, friendly, and helpful. Unfortunately, the hotel overall seemed like lipstick on a pig. It was clear there had been recent renovations and things looked nice on the outside, but upon entering our room we quickly noticed that things above eye level (the chandelier) needed to be dusted, lights had burnt out, outlets didn’t work, and there was a FUNGUS growing from the wall in the corner! The mushroom/fungus was near the AC unit and clearly a result of the high humidity in the room (there was an additional AC unit that vented out the window and was very noisy, but helped block the outside street noise at night) and we noticed it right away because there were a number of ants making quick work of the mushroom and snacking away. Thankfully, the front desk staff had that addressed immediately while we were out to dinner and the room was re-dusted and cleaned but it was hard to shake off the initial nastiness. The water pressure in the shower also left a lot to be desired. But the location was convenient to many attractions, the breakfast was delicious, and the bed was comfy. I was disappointed by how much we paid considering the other issues and would likely not return to this hotel.
