2/10 Poor

Don't waste your money
My husband and I stayed here for four nights. We booked a king suite. As soon as we walked in the room we could see that the bed was not a king. We immediately notified the front desk, and were told that we were wrong. We continued to insist, and were informed that they had no other rooms available and that we did in fact have a king bed. We have a king bed at home, and we measured it to be sure (it was closer to a queen). They then sent housekeeping and maintenance up to continue to gaslight us and insist that the bed was the correct size. We spoke to Jeff the general manager the next day. He claimed he would follow-up with us and then proceeded to avoid us for the remainder of our stay (I'm talking ducking into stairwells when he saw us coming). In addition to our room issues, the pool didn't have water, one of the elevators was not working, there was never any hot water and there is no room service. This hotel had potential, but the poor customer service and the fact that they're passing off queen beds for king (and charging king prices) ruined our experience. There are several (much nicer) hotels in the area with more amenities, excellent customer service, and honest staff. Stay anywhere else but here.

Wonderful stay for Mardi Gras
Stayed 5 nights here over Mardi Gras and absolutely loved it! Perfect location to walk to the parades and the French Quarter. Every staff member that I interacted with was wonderful! And the hotel itself was beautiful and so comfortable. I highly recommend staying here and will return!

A Mixed Bag. Mostly Good.
This hotel is a little bit of a mixed bag. Overall, I had a nice experience and if the price is right, I'd say it's worth a stay. It's a beautiful building in a very convenient area, and the nice touches like the PB&J Hour make it feel very comfortable. That being said, the building itself needs some upkeep. The elevator was broken during our stay, and I noticed several building fixtures that were falling off the walls. Our hotel room had an outlet cover that was literally slanted and there was just an open hole in our wall. Also- make sure that you ask the prices at the hotel bar. My girlfriend and myself went down and got a gin & tonic that ended up costing 25 dollars! For reference, during this same trip, I got a gin and tonic at a bar that was THREE DOLLARS. I know it's a fancy hotel bar, but c'mon.

Great location but poor service
Had to ask repeatedly for room service which was eventually performed. No hot water from the shower for 4 days. Excuse from the General Manager - "hotel is fully booked and everyone is showering at the same time"

Amazing Mardi Gras Stay
The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The biggest pro for this hotel was that it was only a 3 minute walk from the Mardi Gras parade route. This meant you had easy access to a bathroom and your room for any cold drinks. Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

Not worth the money! Needs major renovations!
The hotel is beautiful and the staff was tripping over themselves to compensate for the problems - many of which were out of their control. Our room was 84 degrees when we arrived and we had to wait on maintenance to bring in a ladder to manually switch over the systems to turn it to A/C. There are no options for switching between systems by the controls in the rooms. The shower head was calcified spraying water all over the bathroom during showers. The toilet paper holder kept falling off of the wall and when maintenance came to "fix" it, he just propped back up so it just kept falling off. There was dust behind the TV and the toilet kept making a loud whining sound every time it was flushed in our friends room. There was only one very slow elevator available in a very crowded hotel on a holiday weekend so we had to use the stairs a lot! The manager gave us access to the service elevator, which was really nice, but that made it difficult to maneuver carts and wagons through tight, winding spaces. This is a very tired and old hotel that needs a complete renovation! It has the potential of being very high class, but it is in complete disrepair and not worth the money. Parking is ridiculously expensive at $45/night! But... the manager was extremely nice and apologetic, the front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming, the bartenders were personable, and the lady working in the breakfast area could not have been nicer or accommodating.
