Would check out other options in the future.
Ok, not great. A lot to do with COVID-19 and all their “amenities” being closed but yet have no problem charging you the extra daily amenity fee.

Exceptional
Staff was incredible and very quick to help us with anything we needed. Valet only took a matter of minutes to respond and bring our vehicle when we were heading anywhere. We received complimentary beer upon check-in. Both check in and check out were a breeze. My only complaint was that housekeeping seemed to do the bare minimum before checking us in.. the rug in the living area of our suite was very dirty, the toilet had urine in it when we came in and the bathroom floor and shower didn’t appear to have been thoroughly cleaned. Everything was fully stocked and the bed had fresh linens though. I booked this room last minute on my 5 hour drive to Portland due to an unexpected visit to see a family member in the hospital after brain surgery, using points I’ve racked up from previous trips.. so for a “free” stay I didn’t feel like it was worth the energy to complain. For all I know they could have been understaffed due to covid. The staff and location of the place were amazing enough I would honestly consider staying here again despite any cons.

Very good
The staff could not have been more obliging and helpful. There were hair left on the floor in the bathroom/shower floor.

Serviceless
Valet was not available. No services were provided during the stay, not even when requested. The maître d, was terribly helpful during the stay, but he had no support staff. As a result, our room was overrun with empty bottles and food containers.

Fair
Loved the rooms, decor etc Late night arrival - cold tired amidst the COVID crisis, the young man (didn't catch his name, blonde, had a tweed or plaid suit on) was very pretentious and rude! We had a challenge with our CC - had booked a room - same night, and because we had been traveling between Seattle to Eugene & back amidst all the chaos I believe the bank put a fraud alert on our account. Took a moment to figure that out, As we were working through those details, he stated that's not my problem (when we were trying to explain the situation as to why our card was not allowing the "incidentals" being charged - which, in my opinion was high $130 - so be it but the rude pretentious attitude was unnecessary! It was our first, and unfortunately the last time we will stay at the Heathman!

Nice Hotel
Hotel is very cool with vintage/modern decor. There is a library off of the small Lobby. They offered a choice of local beers when I checked in. Can’t complain about that. Room was Rather large with a large foyer. The beds were comfortable with a 55”+ TV. Our view was of a roof and a fire escape, but I guess that’s what happens when you go for the cheap rate. The restaurant and bar seemed nice although I did Not eat or drink there. Hotel overall is very clean. My only real complaint is that the bathroom layout is very poorly planned. The shower and toilet are in a very small cramped separate room from the sink which is a much larger open area. I was visiting with my son on a college visit and we are both over 6 feet and had difficulty moving around comfortably. With the amount of room available, seems like there could have been a better design. There is also parking across the street that is much cheaper than the Valet. All employees were friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again.

Check in
We had a rough check in, lobby is incredibly small and can not accommodate the amount of check ins while also hosting a private party in the library. Front desk offered literately everyone checking in a cold beer except for my group of 3, when asked it was met with clear annoyance. Valet was great as was other members of the staff we came upon.

Very good
Was a bit of put to find my first room I checked into was not at all cleaned. I mean bed unmade from the last guest, twels on the floor. I was however happy with my second and quick resolve from the front desk. Staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations, pointing out amenities. I was here for a short stay but the charm was noticeable and level of service as you would expect.
