Horrible
I am a repeat customer, and sadly will not go again after my past stay a couple days ago. We actually left early due to our stay being so subpar. On arrival, were told there may be sounds due to renovations being made but if we are experiencing this, we are to push 0, and they will correct it right away. About 30 minutes at the start of our stay, what only could be described as a jackhammer started going either right above or right next to our room. This went on for hours, and it was so loud we couldn’t even hear ourselves yell to each other in our room. We called as they stated to, but was put on hold and never assisted. We left the room, and came back with the same thing going on two hours later. It was rainy and chilly, so we were stuck in the hotel because of the rains and could not even relax. The next morning we were wakened by the same jackhammer dead out of our sleep. After leaving early, we were not refunded or discounted for our horrid experience that night. We were told they couldn’t help us with a discount because we never asked for help. The ‘director of the front desk’ stated if they did not help on the phone when we called, we could of come to the front desk. A $400/night hotel wanted their guests to come down 12 floors to seek assistance for something they should know they are causing because they do not know how to answer the phone? I let the maintenance man know in the elevator, yet nothing was fixed or corrected. Absolutely horrendous stay.

You took me halfway there!
Enjoyed the fact that I had two separate views of the beach. I would have designed the rear walkway to be on the ground, not blocking the view. The private patio is also nice except when you go out there the relentless noise of the water filtration system below and to the south is terrible, I would enclose that. Finally, The last half of the first day and all of the next day was filled with the sound of a work crew hammer-drilling in the room above me. Save your renovations for Jan/Feb, and above all don't charge full price for a room if you are renovating nearby.

This was our first time to visit/stay at the Hilton Sandestin. I was traveling with my two children for the first time since my husband passed in May. I wanted to take them somewhere they could enjoy, have fun, and make some new memories, but it had to be a place where I wouldn't be worried sick about their safety. While this was VERY costly to us and the budget we have to work with, the stay ticked all of those boxes. They had so much fun playing at the beach by day and the pool in the late afternoon, evening. It was so convenient to use the outdoor showers for rinsing off, grabbing food poolside and then just taking the elevator to our room when we were exhausted. I am "anti" resort fees/charges. I had thought I reviewed everything thoroughly before booking only to realize after the fact that the $40/per DAY resort fee was in addition to the nightly room rate, taxes, and so forth. Food & drinks are expensive on site as well. I supposed the idea is that you get what you pay for and you're paying for the convenience of not having to get showers, dressed, and drive off-site for those things. That does have value, but how much value I suppose is the arguable question. The bellmen were phenomenal! We are valet, bellman type folks. We are DIY, frugal, most bang for the buck southern country folks. However, without our strong husband/dad to help us with all the luggage, gear, the bellman became our best ally since luggage carts are NOT available to guests.

Extremely beautiful, picture-perfect location with most everything you need right onsight. Very friendly staff from the beginning to the end, in every area we interacted with (front desk, concierge, bar and wait staff, beach support, room service). In-room food was pretty good, though I think overpriced. However, the convienece of being able to eat breakfast in bed or on the balcony overlooking the ocean makes it worth it at least a couple times. I wasnt overly impressed with the room cleanliness upon arrival (4/5 stars), but it had obviously been cleaned and wasnt gross, just a matter of attention to detail (water spots on the vanity fixtures, some on the mirrors, minor dust in the corners, etc.) The only other downside was that the onsite bar closes at 11. Would like to see that open until at least 12, but stop at Walmart or Winn Dixie on your way in and you're good to go. Very family-friendly environment; looking forward to bringing the kids in the future. All in all, I recommend. (And plan on going again.
